Sony close to a decision?

the only reason he's not sure about committing to us is that he wants to be a five star RB.

if he commits to us, he knows that will bring an automatic negative star handicap.

Funny, but very true, he has to wait till the FINAL ratings if he wants to keep his fifth star

This early commitment crap, doesnt mean anything anymore. He will take visits and other coachs will still be talking to him. Unless he is like Duke which I doubt.

FSU fans seem pretty confident they will get him. I ain't worried yet though.....its far too early to care about verbals.

I lol because Sony recently said he hasn't even talked to FSU since Eddie Gran left.

I am down with the early commitments as long as they are solid as **** and they tell other coaches to kick rocks when they call about visits and whatnot. Not every kid is Duke but not every kid is Keef either.

It's been repeated over and over here but once we know our NCAA fate and we start winning, the early commits will stick better and kids like Sony won't even be a question.

I agree with the first part.

Usually don't like them though.

This kid doesn't remind me of Mathew Thomas. We need to get guys on board early this year and need their help in recruiting everyone else. This has the potential to be an epic class. Get Sony, hire Lockette, and then try to get the other 2 guys on board- Cook and Yearby. Let the best man win.

If I had to choose two, it would be Sony and Cook.

If we go after a 3rd I would just go all in on that Lousiana kid. I'm sure he's an LSU lean but if we win big this year then anything is possible IMO. I don't think we take a 3rd RB if we get Cook and Sony though unless that kid wants in real bad.

This I know not every kid is duke but I want a couple guys who are loyal and will recruit like **** for their school, a lot of schools have guys like that year in and year out

Last year our first commit (who ended up actually signing with UM) was RLIII on March 20th. Olsen was in May, Gall was in June, Burns/Carter were in July.

When did Collins and Bryant commit?

None of the ones you mentioned never even thought about wavering.
