ESPN started selling the **** out of the SEC the same time the payments thing started. Think back pre 2000, SEC wasn't anything special. ESPN built it, promoted it, now too big to stop.
The 2019 kids were born in the year of our last conference title so I doubt they recall OUs wishbone.Im not from miami but i cant understand how these kids and the miami community are cool with disrespecting the university of miami.
These kids would rather go play in front of a bunch of racist rednecks than stay home and bring Miami back to the top of college football. While Alabama, Oklahoma, and Notre dame were still playing whiteboy football Miami was bringing in local black athletes and changing college football. Does the Miami community not remember this?
Well maybe we would beat the Wiskys of the world if we had a 5 star corner covering their wrs instead of jhavonte dean....
We need to beat the teams we have no business losing to. Never lose to a Duke a BC or a Virginia. Never under any circumstance. I think that is a good starting point. We also need to have consistent 10 win seasons. Once winning is restablished the recruits will come. Guys want to be successful and get to the league.

Agreed on the comment about FSU. I’d rather Miami and FSU be battling each other for titles than watching these fraud SEC schools.Ya know ericane it's funny you mention that because I almost posted that thought during my initial post. It's hard to point to a singular moment in time where things changed but if I had to that would be it. If I remember correctly he was committed to us forever and then flipped at the final hour to LSU. Thus began a mass exodus of kids spurning us for SEC teams. Here's my problem, it's one thing to lose a kid to FSU stuff like that has always happened(and vice-versa), but I get really miffed when they diss us for these SEC schools. Tyrique even said recently that Athens was the most boring, god-awful town he's ever been to.
Yes but the level that it’s occurring now vastly exceeds what was going on prior. The money that started flowing to these large state school with the implementation of the BCS opened the floodgates. You people talking like high school recruits getting paid started with Patrick Johnson. Lol.
They are invested in PR, not winning. Big difference.
Thanks for your input and passion. I agree it rubs me raw seeing these kids jerk us off like this. But, these are different times. Back in the day very few major colleges would touch these kids. They were looked down on, coaches were afraid of these “Thugs”, until Howard showed the world who they were and what they could do. Which was to run you, pass you, beat you to death. And WIN. Times have changed, the game has changed. Unfortunately so has recruiting and the kids. A lot of these kids and families see their talent as the Meal ticket and look for what the see as the best opportunity to get next level, can’t blame them. When there was only one game in town, the U, they were all in. Not anymore. Sad, but WE, also have to change and adapt. Let’s hope Manny and Co. can do just that.First, let me say I've been a fan of this program since growing up in Key West in the early 80's and have been coming to this site for years to get information, never to post. I've found this site to be the best when it comes to information. The reason I decided to post today is because I'm fed up - angry - ticked off at these local kids making a mockery of this beloved program. It's akin to a loved one, or family member, being there fsor you throughout your life, supporting you, and then you spit in their face and haul butt for money. You hear, "Well they're going to Georgia to win!." Win What?? What exactly has Georgia won in the last 30-plus years? Also if you really "LOVE" the 305 like you claim, why are you going to clown us on national television? Second, people say, "If you win they will come." How the **** can we win if they don't come in the first place? Want to become sick to your stomach? Sit down and comprise a list of all the local kids who spurned Miami the last 10-15 years. We'd probably have 10 NC's by now, no joke. What needs to happen is this: When these kids return to Miami like, "Wassssup, we all good right?", we need to turn our backs on them and loudly say, "Nah, it AIN'T all good bruh." We should have zero respect for these dudes and make our feelings well known. You like Athens so much then go live there, permanently, because you aren't welcome here anymore. Again, I've really enjoyed reading your comments for years now and thank you for letting me vent.
I agree that what Bogle and Stevenson did was really disrespectful. If they've known for weeks or even months where they were going, don't make it a point to troll all the local fans by making it seem like the U was still in it. Bogle in particular was a total diva through the whole process, then had the balls to make it seem like he might have come here if Kul had stayed, as if that was ever really a factor.
And before anyone starts ripping the coaches for not knowing or continuing to engage with them, just stop. It's their job to fight to the bitter end to try and flip them, even though they know exactly what's going on.
Never been one of those "Just shut up and sign" guys. Don't care about kids having their time in the sun. It's things like blatantly asking for Canes fans to follow him on Twitter while openly trying to build drama, to then troll your own local school that's wrong.
They are a bunch of divas and this theory that we won with all s fla talent back in the day is nonsense. Texas, Cali, NJ, PA, entire NE, and La, all states we used to hit hard. So, go after the gimmies that are going to be Canes no matter what from S Fla, get them locked in and then recruit nationally. Sell Miami being far away from LA, Houston, or sell the tropics of Miami to all the NE kids.
Kids today don't remember when Miami was great. Kids want to win and that is why Miami doesn't get great players. If Miami wants to get back to pulling 5 star players, start winning.Im not from miami but i cant understand how these kids and the miami community are cool with disrespecting the university of miami.
