Ahh my bad. Always thought he was from Georgia

2 reasons:Seriously, why don't we recruit Samoa and the other Pacific Islands? They grow 'em big out there if you hadn't noticed. NFL lines are studded with these guys. You ain't finding those type players locally.
Coaches were too busy talking to Dan Sileo Jr. to worry about Wilson.Divaad Wilson tore his ACL in April and plays 10 months later in Georgia’s bowl game, as a true freshman, with the game still on the line, yet how hard was he recruited by Miami?
Disrespect? Smh

They didn't "troll the fanbase". Some you guys on this site.
Anyone with a brain could have told you EXACTLY where these guys were going for the past several months.
Y'all just chose not to listen. Again.
305 is well and good but those kids want to get to the NFL. Bama, Georgia and OSU are making that happen right now.
I feel disrespected by the kids that show up all the time to practices and gameday then play games on social media, but it’s what it’s, if UM coaches let them do that why wouldn’t they.
Miami Should've won way more games with the talent that we got over the last 10 years, but we haven’t, kids see that and bolt. They don’t feel like they owe something to the home team and the home team is not making that decision hard anyway.
I believe (hope might be a better word) if Miami puts together 2-3 9/10 wins seasons, Bowl victories, top 15 finishes and players drafted in the first 2 days Miami would be able to beat UGA, OSU, Mich, Oregon and OU and at least have a respectable record against Clemson and Bama for the local talent
Thanks for your thoughtful reply. I sorta knew most/all of that (especially the Mormon connection which is why you see the UT/AZ/OR/WA schools recruit so many Islanders), but you put things very accurately.2 reasons:
1) Distance. Those kinds of kids end up at a lot of west coast schools because they're closer. Even if it was a direct flight, you're talking a 24 hour flight from Samoa to Miami per Google. It's probably more like 32 hours once you add in connections and such. The time/money investment just isn't worth it.
2) Religion/Culture. There have been a ton of missions done by multiple religions to the Samoan Islands. Most are either very Christian or very Mormon, or at the very least they're simply very conservative/simpler in their lifestyle. That's why you'll see a good amount of those kids end up at BYU or ND, or another faith-based college when they come state-side, or even smaller schools. I know they're both tropical climes, but Miami's culture doesn't always jive w/the culture those kids and their families know and are comfortable with.
While I agree that there are multiple Pacific Islander prospects we could try to find and recruit, it's just logistically tough for us to do due to geography and religious/cultural hurdles. We're better off trying to find those kinds of prospects you're referring to (big, tough OL/DL) state-side, by scouring the Southeast, Midwest, and Northeast. They may not be Samoans, but we're better off recruiting those kids.
Yeah - there are Pac-Islanders we can recruit a lot easier once they get to the mainland. We've gone after a very few, just haven't had any luck pulling them past the western schools that they're already leaning towards. As for Tua/Bama...you **** right that's a $pecial case. Thanks for your thoughtful reply. Just a couple more thoughts: Many Samoans are already here in the USA, a large number living in California. So, there's that! Lastly, I know Tua is from Hawaii (not Samoa) and Bama is a "special case" but .... there are no direct flights to Tuscaloosa and the rube culture up there surely can't be a match.
