it was the worst of the hires we've made so far under Mario is basically the general consensus. Mario clearly likes him so were stuck with him whether we like it or not. I assume maybe Mario wanted partridge and that turned out to be a no go and then went with who he trusted?

Mario can also make up for recruiting abilities. its just harder to do it when no one else is hired on the d staff. Thibs recruitment was handled by the Safeties coach. we can't even do that right now. DVD is the closest connection we have to Shemar currently. Joe is a west coast guy.

Lol. B-Mac is nice. It’s good to have coaches that can equally recruit, develop, and coach. I like Mirabel as a coach. Hear nothing but good things about him. Remember, Mario is a OL coach as well.

You can't make delicious chicken salad out of chicken ****, so yes, likely losing the best DL in the state and possibly the country is something to be upset about. and it sets the tone for future classes showing we are once again little bro to the $EC.

Looks like it. I’m a huge Mario fan but I’m really not feeling dude once I got to look at his resume. Plus with SFL always producing top DL recruits, dude can’t fumble now. The spotlight will be on him. We’ll see..
 
on top of all of that.. I’ve heard A&M has spent $25-30 mill on their class which is essentially $1M per signee.. which we can’t touch.

But if that’s BS I’ve heard through the grapevine he’ll get as much as $500k via life wallet and cigarette racing and whatever else the Ruiz’s come up with. I was told 6 figures.. one person said $100k and the other said it was $500k per year.

Mario is gonna be pulling weight in the recruitments down here. Joe doenst have a connection here. hes a west coast guy. it would be nice to have T rob right about now

All the A&M deals have been from 500 to 850 with a few guys getting close to 1m I think. My cousin got 600 and isn’t a consensus 5 star

CFB is a bottom-line business.

We either get it done or we don't in recruiting.

Nobody's gonna give a **** about extenuating circumstances — no matter how challenging they were or weren't — when we're playing in a big game with a lot on the line.

Well I hope he’s gets busy with the West Coast connects. That’s a pipeline we need. Glad we kept Fields.

well that's the other issue. he wasn't handling the big time recruitments for Oregon outside of sewell (in terms of west kids). take a peak at his primary recruitments. its not good. at the end of the day, Mario and his staff will be making up for short comings there.

Apparently Joe is a great dude but he just isn’t going to relate to kids down here and couldn’t do it on the west coach either aside from Samoans. He has no resumé of NFL player development aside from KT who was already a 1st round pick coming out of HS.. easy to spin it that he didn’t do anything for him.

On top of that, no coordinators, no staff, nothing of substance that has been talked about has been done at UM. Basically Shemar was Miami’s first phone call when he got the job.. literally called him sitting on the runway before takeoff to come to Miami. Laid out his vision and what’s going to happen and who he’s going to hire or what they’re gonna run. Here we are 2 months later and he’s still talking about the vision and and can’t prove 1 thing is going to come to reality. It really could be as simple as announcing the hire of the DC to prove it. Idk.

I trust Mario and it’s going to be better than it was.. he will hire a good coordinator. But it’s hard for an 18 year old to buy in and choose that over what’s being sold in Athens and college station. You can’t compare Moss and Kelly to Stewart because they’ve been around Mario and been in contact for years and followed what he said and saw the results.

yup. kelly was going to Oregon bc of Mario not bc of Joe. once Mario came here, it was done.

moss said he followed Mario sight unseen essentially and trusted him.

clear connection is MARIO.

Joe being your only d hire is tough if a kid needs to see it.
