2022 Shemar Stewart goes A2M

Im not crying about it taking long or whatever.. before anyone responds about that. No complaints.. I’m sure it’ll make sense after the fact. Not freaking out either. Making the right hire is most important.

Just laying it out from a recruits perspective and what I’ve heard.

Apparently Joe is a great dude but he just isn’t going to relate to kids down here and couldn’t do it on the west coach either aside from Samoans. He has no resumé of NFL player development aside from KT who was already a 1st round pick coming out of HS.. easy to spin it that he didn’t do anything for him.

On top of that, no coordinators, no staff, nothing of substance that has been talked about has been done at UM. Basically Shemar was Miami’s first phone call when he got the job.. literally called him sitting on the runway before takeoff to come to Miami. Laid out his vision and what’s going to happen and who he’s going to hire or what they’re gonna run. Here we are 2 months later and he’s still talking about the vision and and can’t prove 1 thing is going to come to reality. It really could be as simple as announcing the hire of the DC to prove it. Idk.

I trust Mario and it’s going to be better than it was.. he will hire a good coordinator. But it’s hard for an 18 year old to buy in and choose that over what’s being sold in Athens and college station. You can’t compare Moss and Kelly to Stewart because they’ve been around Mario and been in contact for years and followed what he said and saw the results.

heyward for Oregon handled a lot of the big time recruitments there for the d kids. thibs said as much in a interview too.

And talking substance.. the reason I give it a 10% chance is because he’s on campus this weekend. The substance is in their operations already. Let him get around the players and hear how much it has changed and the attention to detail and how much they’re enjoying it already.

An OV could change everything and paint the picture for him. Especially if he wants to stay home.

I already said awhile ago.... The closer it gets to NSD, the more you're going to hear of a negative narrative towards Shemar going to the U.... Why? Because uga and atm knows we're a real threat in this. Once again..... We're ahead of uga and that's all I can say.

I agree, most of these guys are slurping what uga says about us like we didn't get ts from them. its why there trying to poach bmac! Countless head to head recruiting matchups but what uga is saying is the gospel!

Only good thing about not having a DC/OC is that these kids want to play for Mario and he's the only one guaranteed to be here during their 4 years here anyways.

Chances are that no matter who Mario hires as a DC or OC, they're not going to be here 4 years. If it's a good hire they'll get a "promotion" somewhere. If it's a bad hire, hopefully Mario would fire them anyways.

Not sure why some kids don't see that. Most position coaches and coordinators are temporary. Especially at high level programs.

Do you honestly believe deep down HE will make the decision he wants? Or will Moe push him in a direction?

If he’s on campus and we hire a DC and let’s just say it’s Belk - or someone with a solid resumé that kids will know of - and his potential NIL deal is legit.. I’d probably raise our chances to 50%+.

Im just way too hesitant with so much going against us.

it was the worst of the hires we've made so far under Mario is basically the general consensus. Mario clearly likes him so were stuck with him whether we like it or not. I assume maybe Mario wanted partridge and that turned out to be a no go and then went with who he trusted?

Can't you say the same about a good number of 5* guys? To be clear, I am in total agreement with everything you have said and where your concerns lie, but Shemar is a 6'5" man child at 18. The same comment could apply to him in 3 years time.
