Senior Bowl Reports

If Morris leads the first td drive for the North can we stop with the ****ing about him in the Senior Bowl thread? I believe there are already about 500 threads dedicated to hating him.

Well, he just threw a stupid interception, what do we do now? I'll be surprised if the guy gets drafted. Can't read defenses and his physical traits are not special.

Look, I'm by no means a Morris lover. I just think it's pointless to hate on him at this point. Every thread turns into a Golden bash, a Morris bash, or a general bashing of the program. It just gets kind of old. Maybe if he didn't have to put up more than 40 a game, he wouldn't have forced quite as much. All I'm saying.

conversely, maybe our terrible defense wouldn't have been constantly exposed if he didn't go three-and-out or turn the ball over every 2 out of 3 drives.

The main problem is that they were both issues that fed off of one another. I've always been of the opinion that with all of the skill players Miami has, QB needs to be a game manager. Obviously, Morris is not that. That being said, I'm not going to hate on a guy that could've left and gone to another school with an opportunity to play in a bowl game every year but chose to stick around and see it through. Most people seem to be more obsessed with falling in love with guys that leave than guys that stay at Miami for four years.

I'm just stating my opinion. He threw a terrible interception and he just doesn't have the skills. It's actually a indirect compliment to the rest of the program as I think we won 9 games despite him and if we would have had a better QB, we are a BCS team. I'm in the we need better players and not so much on the bad coaching side.

I'm on the, I don't care what it takes, just win side. Lol. But I fully understand why people would feel that way about him. It's just not my personal opinion. No disrespect. Go Canes.

what bowl games? he had no other choice if he wanted to sniff the nfl. his other offers were central michigan, uconn, fiu, northwestrern, purdue, ucf, and uva. and before someone says "what about ucf?" ucf was horrendous when he committed here.

We are all passionate and want it to be the way it was. Morris was one who always rubbed me the wrong way. Did nothing against good teams, and
folded like a tent in big games, even when healthy (Kansas St, Notre Dame, Florida St, Louisville). Then he comes out and makes the sneaker comment, and I'm finally healthy, watch comment. We been watching for 3 years.

Uconn has been in a bcs game more recently than us. Just saying. Also, hasn't Central Michigan had a qb drafted more recently than us? I really wasn't arguing with you, I'm just saying he could've done the easy thing and left, but didn't. I just don't see the point in hating. Can't we just move on?

To be fair, the whole team folded in those games. Lol.

So where's all this talent some of you have spoken of? "Significantly better" than teams we lost to? I've read that here several times.

"But it's the corches, they suck and don't know how to coach or recruit."

If you don't think Al made lemonade out of this group of lemons, I don't know what to tell you.

Talent wise, this was a six or seven win team. He got to nine, with one hand tied behind his back. That's a helluva coaching job, not matter how you wanna slice it.

Dude, we have a oline coach with more NC rings than Al has fingers who has been change the way he has always coached oline. Al wants players to play every position regardless of ability and rotate frequently. Art did not coach our NC teams that way, nor did he coach the numerous NFL players he molded. We have not short yardage offense because we have no natural guards, because we have all tackles who Al wants to play guard too.

So much for us having all this O-line talent. Our best Lineman (Linder) isn't even making waves.

You took a half-assed "scouting report" as truth. Perhaps give it the same skepticism you'd usually give if it had been something you disagreed with.

Here's another view:

North guard Brandon Linder (Miami) may have increased his draft stock with a solid three days of practice. The 6-5, 316-pounder had a reputation for being technically sound and that showed up this week. Linder, a three-year starter for the Hurricanes, was projected to be a late-round draft pick but that could change if he finishes the week strong.

Anyone else surprised/disappointed in the way Porter's season turned out? At this point last year i Thought there would be some interest from NFL

Really shows us where our team is at from a talent perspective from objective individuals who have no reason to bash the canes, and also get paid for their professional opinions on this matter. You cannot win big in college football with a severe lack of upperclassmen talent like our team has.

If anything that suggests that our coordinators should be adapting to our younger, more talented personnel. Clearly didn't happen on the defensive side of the ball. Don't understand how a player like Tyriq is kept off the field as much as he had been last semester.

Anyways don't mean to hijack the thread but this definitely proves our severe lack of upperclassmen talent this year.

Our defense would've been exposed no matter what. They can't stop people. Morris had little to do with the other team going straight down the field repeatedly for two years. It seems strange to blame the offense when we generally went into games expecting that we needed 35 points to win. The people doing that are probably the same people who blame the defense for us losing to Ohio State.

it's absolutely fine to put a portion blame on the offense. after the georgia tech game, we scored 35+ points 2 times in 8 games (uva and pitt). they were supposed to be the strength of the team and couldn't break 35 against duke and wake forest.

I just think its hilarious how it was basically the SEC & FSU vs...

Miami on the North squad and Colorado State and San Jose St. on the South? Seems legit.

According to various media reports this week, our boys aren't helping themselves in Mobile. Unflattering reports on Morris, plus Atlanta paper ran a list this morning of 5 most impressive and 5 least impressive players (Falcons staff is coaching in the game). Henderson made the least impressive list and it was mentioned that, along with his play, he didn't pass their character test.

This is from a Detroit paper . . .

Negatives

Seantrel Henderson had more issues today. I counted three false starts not long into practice. He also got burned around the edge by a Trent Murphy speed rush when getting to aggressive with his feet and not staying patient in his pass set. Inconsistent as ever.

Henderson’s partner in crime Brandon Linder had a couple of poor reps. He’s still struggling with pad level and bending at the waist. He was unable to anchor a bullrush after giving up his chest on one occasion, getting dumped for an easy “sack”.

In addition the panel discussion mentioned Henderson losing his lunch on the 50 yard line after a practice.

you must not be following canes for long. this moving guys has always been kehoes plan. going back years he wants the best 5 guys out there and even says as much recently when recruiting a kid.

I get this sinking feeling that he will be drafted by Patriots in the mid-rounds and be a dolphin obstacle for the next ten years. He is exactly the type of player the Pats build championship teams with. Underrated, smart, technically sounds and tough. They will find the perfect role for him and he will excel in it.

If that's true I'm about to lose about $75 worth of quality rum myself.
