Scrimmage take...

So the 24 in a half against a top 15 defense, that doesn't count to you??????? Just the bad play before that point????????

OK
They weren't a top 15 defense. And what you fail to understand is if he would have been better in some of those games there would have been no need for comebacks.

I REALLY want this kid to step up and be the man @ QB. I don't know what level of HS ball he played but in his Jr/Sr season he threw for 5630 yards, 54 TDs and 8 Ints. Fingers crossed he's the one.

Jarren Williams
Jarren Williams comes to Miami from Central Gwinnett High School in Georgia. Coach Mark Richt poached Williams from his old backyard only 45 minutes from the UGA campus. The Bulldogs pulled in Justin Fields, also from Georgia, and Miami was able to bring Williams down to Florida. Williams is more compact than Perry standing at 6’2 and 205 pounds. When he rolls out and throws he reminds me of Baker Mayfield. Williams threaded the needle in his highlight tape and put some balls into windows that will close much quicker at the college level. Where Perry’s tape showed too many fades, Williams’ tape has more variety showing he can make a multitude of throws and reads.
Williams also played in a national showcase game as he’s considered a blue chip prospect. Williams was a member of the Elite 11 along with Fields and Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) who were the top two rated players in the country in 2018. Williams was the 77th rated player in the 2018 recruiting class. Williams had a 9.6 composite ranking from 247 Sports as a four-star quarterback.
Earlier post, before the Malik Haters Club calls me a Malik homer

They were also losing vs fsu and unc because he couldn't complete a **** pass.
Yes. QB's regularly gain 376 yards by not being able to complete a pass.

This is just blind Rosier bashing at this point. Let me simplify it for y'all. In those three games:
Rosier: 974 yards
Running backs: 190 yards

Come on at me with how we couldn't run because they loaded the box and dared Rosier to beat them, too, even though we already know how well that worked out.

Some of my thoughts on Malik 5 games in - lest we think he was just plain terrible all year long. At one point he was on the freaking Maxwell watch list. He's got some major shortcomings, and they were exposed badly late in the season (the "other shoe" dropped, as alluded to in my post.) I'll go on record saying I'd like to see Perry or Williams take the reins and run with it, but to sit here and pretend we got zero production out of our QB all last year is disingenuous.
Rosiers games vs Toledo and Bethune drastically bring up his stats on the season.
Take those 2 games out, and the ONLY thing he wasn't Below Average at (when compared to 142 FBs QBs, 50 P5 Qbs, and 12 ACC Qbs) is TD%. But he was such a good QB he made up for that high TD% by having one of the Highest INT%'s in the nation!

His first 6 games of the season included 4 of the best games in his career. The Syracuse game week 6 I will maintain was a really good game from him....but it was ******* against syracuse! And thats the problem. i have no doubts that Rosier can beat the **** teams. Thats not the question. I think ANY qb we rock with this year will beat the **** teams. But what we saw the final 7 weeks was just terrible. Ultimately Rosiers season last yr is like 2 different people:

If we got Rosier over his first 6 games to play that way all ******* year, then yeah I'd be all about Rosier. **** if Rosier maintained that level of play we definitely wouldn't have lost to Pitt or Wisconsin, and we might have beaten Clemson too. If he played over the course of the season like those first 6 games we wouldn't be having this debate. Those are some awesome stats. The problem is when you ask who did he do it against, and then you see that by far the worst game in those 6 starts was vs FSU, and then you look at how far he fell off the final 7 (which is the majority of the season).

God **** it bro please go on YouTube on watch the unc game before you spout off on stupid box scores
We had 62 rushing yards vs UNC and 20 of that was Rosier! Rosier threw for 356 and ran for 20 more, yet it was the QB play that caused that game to be close?! Not the 42 yards put up by the O-line and running backs?

Why take out two games? Did Kaaya never play Bethune? I kinda remember him padding his stats with 4 TD passes in a 70 point game against FAMU. What's he end up with? 17 TD's on the season if we take out his cupcakes in 2016?

And when the **** did we get this vastly better o-line between 2016 and 2017?

Yes. QB's regularly gain 376 yards by not being able to complete a pass.

He was 19/44 on the game vs fsu which is 43%. At the end of the 1st half he was 5/20 which is 25%. 16/38 vs unc which is 42%. But yea he wasn't struggling to complete passes.

The UNC game is a perfect example of why a Completion % is so ******* crucial to an offense.
Rosier that game had great yardage, and TDs. But even better is he had great Adjusted Yards/attempt and a great TD%, and an average INT% (as opposed to being horrendous).

However he had a ******* 42% comp%! And that alone derailed our offense. Our WRs and RBs were ALL making plays in the passing game (Homer was 2nd in Receptions and 3rd in passing yards that game while Deejay Dallas had a 49 yard Catch). But Rosier just could not ******* get the ball to our play makers. He was literally terrible. He had the lowest Completion% of the season in that UNC game. Did you not see what happened as a ******* result? We almost lost to UNC on their ******* 3rd string QB. Our offense was inept that game and it started because Rosier couldn't complete a pass to save his life. Our guys were open. They were making plays when the got their hands on the ball. That game should have been a blow out, but Rosier only completed forty-*******-two % of his passes.

So a completion % over rides almost 400 total yards, 3 total TDS, and a road ACC win?

Man they should put that on the scoreboard instead of points, huh?

I'm not going to go through every person i'm comparing him to and take out all their non P5 games, thats why. Thatd take me way too long.
The reason I'm doing that is to show that his stats are significantly padded by those two games.
You remember this argument is about who is better for us this season Rosier or one of the freshman, right?
My entire point from the very beginning of this debate has been that Rosier is Terrible in the games that matter, and that ANYONE can win us those easy games with the amount of talent we have surrounding the QB on offense and defense. I'm not worried about the Toledos and Bethunes of the season. I'm worried about ******* FSU and Clemson in the ACCCG. I want to go with one of the freshman so that the first 4 warm up games of the season he can get valuable experience and that by the time ACC play comes around he will be a better QB than Rosier and actually give us a chance to win the ACC or at least the bowl game to end the year.

Three games. Rosier 974 yards. Rest of the offense 190 yards.
But Rosier sucks. The o-line is vastly improved. And we couldn't run only because Rosier couldn't complete a pass.

Oh and just for ****s and giggles. Here's the Toledo game. Check the play by play and you'll see something in common with every drive that ends in a punt except for 1.
Walton run for a loss of 1
Homer run for a gain of 1
Walton run for a loss of 2
Homer run for a loss of 5

Vastly improved O-line my ***. And before you start blaming the running game on Rosier, he threw for 333 yards for 3 Td's and ran for a 4th.

TOTAL YARDS DONT MATTER! Holy ****. Stop discussing things in terms of total yards and total TDs. per attempt is what matters.
And Like I said already Rosier had very good yards/attempt and adjusted yards per attempt, and even TD%.
But if you read what I wrote or WATCHED THE ******* GAME you'd know that his Completion % was literally directly responsible for us almost losing that game. Its the reason he ******* got pulled from the game at one point. How do you not understand this?
You cant defend rosier in the UNC or Pitt games when RICHT ******* pulled him!

Kaaya was a great QB for 3 qtrs, but he went 0-3 against FSU, 1-2 against VaTech, 1-2 against UNC, 1-1 against Duke, 0-1 against ND, and 1-7 against ranked teams.

He was horrible in those games. Completing 40% of your passes isnt good at all. That just means the recievers were able to make big plays but the qb failed to get them the ball consistently.

Much better coaching and kaaya played vs better teams than rosier did.
