Ryan Williams.. Is It Time To Start Him?

At this point we sink or swim with Morris. We've got too many things to clean up before heading to Tally, and hopefully Morris gets it cleaned up against Wake. If we aren't in contention for the acccg after the vT game, meaning we lose to both fsu and vT, I can perhaps see Golden giving Williams a shot.

Uh, why?

Because I think Golden believes Morris gives this offense the best chance to be successful. We're 6-0 heading into the Wake game. I don't think now is the time to pull Morris, especially a week before going to Tally. We've got to get things on track for that game. If Williams is to see action I think it will be after the vT game. Right now we roll with Morris.

The knee jerk reaction is to go with Williams no doubt. But at this point of the season, we're better off sticking with Morris. Had Williams had a little more meaningful game action under his belt, I'd consider. But 6 games in, we ride or Morris. I'm riding

Ah yes, the sunk cost fallacy. (Soon to be known as the Blaine Gabbert fallacy)

The sunk cost fallacy is in game theory sometimes known as the "Concorde Fallacy," referring to the fact that the British and French governments continued to fund the joint development of Concorde even after it became apparent that there was no longer an economic case for the aircraft. The project was regarded privately by the British government as a "commercial disaster" which should never have been started, and was almost cancelled, but political and legal issues had ultimately made it impossible for either government to pull out.

Sometimes knowing when to fold and invest in the next hand is the appropriate course of action. Not clear that is the case now, but also not encouraged by Morris's Big Dig experiment there in Chapel Hill

Morris clearly has a higher ceiling than a guy like Williams...but sometimes it's better to be consistent and steady. Morris is not helping this team win right now. Today's win was in spite of Morris.

Let me throw this out there for all you that think you are smarter, know more then the coaches that see these guys everyday:

Williams has been here over 2 years. Williams and Morris have been on the same practice field during that time. Williams and Morris battled for the job last year. Williams lost that battle. Williams was the clear back up this year so much so that their wasn't a QB battle in the spring or fall.

Guess who the coaches think give the team the best chance to win? Guess which QB the staff thought gave Miami the best chance to win tonights game even after Morris had thrown 4 INTs?

Stephen's Morris's ankle must really be bothering him. His footwork is all off.

His footwork sucked last year and this year before he got hurt.

Exactly. The guy is hurting his team. UNC played him the same way last season. Two deep safeties & gave us the run.

Thats the m.o. to play Miami or Morris.

Brah...i'd just sit my safeties 20 yds back...and just watch our offense unravel. Its how UNC did us last year..its how Va tech is going to play us...and it will be worrse as they have the dbs to man up on us...and know we have a gimp ankle so they will send the house....fsu hasnt shown me anything as far *** their pass rush....but their dbs will bait morris.

we need a little bit more creativity at this point in the mid season with our offense....i kind of screeched as i saw unc's dc send the cb blitzes on first down...and also seeing their dbs just gamble as Hurns runs the same route every third down.....time to step it up Morris AND Coley.

Coaches are very hard headed. BTW, tons of coaches get fired so it does not mean that they are all knowing and above being questioned.

This line?

I'm sure you used to spout this during Coker and Shannon's tenure. Figured you'd learn by now.

Morris obviously won the job all camp, unfortunately, things change and the situation is fluid. I doubt the coaches expected his last two outings to looks this way. Or for his ankle to become an issue. I promise you there will be some serious debate going on among them while reviewing the tape of this disaster Morris served up.

If anyone who says yes I question their football knowledge.

I question yours. Morris is not a good QB. He throws a nice deep ball but that is it. Overall he is a soft player that is not really good.

I guess you should go ahead and question Golden, Fisch, and Coley then too. Guess they don't know football either.

I can question their judgement. Maybe they do not feel that Ryan is better but it is a legit question imo

No doubt Morris was awful tonight. There won't even be a discussion who starts vs WF.

Well how much worse can Ryan play. Is he gonna throw 5 interceptions. Oh noes. Give Williams a shot at WF and let Morris rest his ankle. The objective is to win games. And that's not gonna happen much longer with Morris turning into jacory 2.0. We can and will lose against fsu and vt and possibly another team. Can't win these games all the time. So let's give Williams a try and see what happens.

Nope. But, it doesn't mean that they are right. You know that Ryan Williams will be our QB next season! So he isn't horrible.

No Stephen Morris just needs to get healthy.... this game was completely abnormal for him.

I think Ryan Williams needs to start for Wake Forest so Stephen Morris can be as healthy as possible for FSU.
