Ryan Williams.. Is It Time To Start Him?

Let me also be clear. I think Morris has a lot of heart, and a lot of talent. The guy can make some phenomenal throws. But there is just something wrong upstairs. Maybe its all because of the ankle, or maybe he's just rattled. But he is having SERIOUS issues, and the "easy" games are behind us. If he cant pull it together, AG owes it to the TEAM, to play the QB that gives us the best chance of winning.

I think that at times, the game gets a bit too fast for Morris, thus the mental farts. Oh, he's got an arm. He's experienced. He's a senior. He understands some of the initial reads, but against a fast-moving, smart defense - and NC has some really smart players - it overwhelms Morris.

I've been watching him for too long now, and when I see games like this, they all have the same thing in common. Things are really moving fast, and Morris can't seem to keep pace, thus the dumbass throws, running OUT of a solid pocket right into the outside speed rusher, and consistently throwing off his heels, simply because he can't make rapid progressions.

Good guy. Great arm. But unless Coley can figure a way to slow the game down for Morris, we're in trouble at FSU and Clemson, not counting ****** Tech.

Lu,
I think you need to do a better job of structuring your posts so as to compensate for our collective lack of reading skillz.

Team captain and vocal leader who has played well overall. He played well enough for us to win.

Vocal leader who absolutely "undressed" Sacey Coley the 1st game of the year for dropping a couple of HIS TD passes. He needs to check his attitude if you ask me and personally apologize to the team for being a complete beat off.

Why do people keep saying Morris has "played well overall".

He has 9 TDs to 8 Ints. this season.

That isnt "playing well" by any stretch of the imagination. He's thrown MORE picks so far this year, despite having missed most of TWO games, than he did ALL of last year. This despite having faced FAU, Savannah State, a 2-4 USF, and a 1-5 UNC. He's thrown SEVEN picks against the 3 legit competition teams we have played this year. Not exactly playing murderers row, and he's been pretty weak. What's going to happen against VT and FSU?

So my beef is that he has NOT been playing well at all, overall. He has had a TOTALLY inconsistent season.

Who gets to decide "the QB that gives us the best chance of winning"?

Just my opinon but...

Morris isn't able to be as good as he can because he isn't as good as he thinks he is.

In his head, he is a potential first-round pick, All-ACC, top-flight quarterback. I'm not saying he couldnt be. But I think he thinks he already is at that level. So he makes mind-numbingly bad decisions, slings off his backfoot, doesn't step into his throws because he thinks he is already at that level and can do that.

What is so disappointing, to me, is I really expected to see a much sharper Morris last night. I thought GT was just a sore ankle. But the issues were before GT. I thought last night with the extra time off, we would see Morris drop, set, plant step into this pass and follow through.

We didn't. And does anyone doubt that the game would be drastically different but for those four picks? (Aside from D'onofrio forgetting to gameplan for UNC's best receiver).

It was one of the most inexplicable, cringe-worthy bad performances: Kirby-esque is the only way I can describe it.

I wouldn't necessarily bench him. But I would go ahead and give Williams more reps with the first team the first practice back in Coral Gables. ****, maybe give him the entire practice there. A message needs to be sent that it really doesn't matter what the name on the back of your jersey says, if you aren't getting the job done then we will find someone who will.

WOW. That's EXACTLY what it is. Dude's a bum and doesn't even know it. A 2* from Pace H.S..
