Guess what - supply and demand does apply as the other option for these local kids is to "Pack your Bags". Sorry, but there is NOTHING that Miami can not deliver that these other schools are offering, i.e. a Great education and a opportunity to the next level.

First that time was reported by a coach and they lie to boast a kids recruiting interest from schools. Second that most likely is hand timed, where as Espn is laser timed which is much more accurate.

Also I believe Mayes is one of those kids that hasn't been in a serious Strength & conditioning program not to mention I don't think his nutrition has been ideal also. These are some of the factors UM coaches & Butch davis use in projecting kids. So by the time this kid is a Red shirt soph he will be a 210lb free safety or nickel db that can run a la the merchant of Speed coach swasey.

ESPN's time could have been from a combine his freshman year, they don't update times

That 5.0 forty time that ESPN has up is not correct. This kid is in the 4.4-4.5 range and he runs the 100M is 11.3 seconds
 
You know what this also tells me..That these Dade County coaches are starting to buy into Al. You dont find under the radar kids like this without somebody putting a bug in your ear. A local coach must have told Al about a 6'1 185 lb DB from Dr Krop that is the TRUTH but he has gotten no love because of the school he goes to and he has no way of being contacted. Al sent someone to tell him to come to camp and here you go..I said it in another thread..We already got Luke and Roland on the team. We get Ice back on the bandwagon with no reservations and we start winning this thing is over. We might call LSU back and tell them we are ready to accept that challenge. Lol. We are getting VERY close playas..

Let´s give credit to the coach that was very supportive when a lot of SF corches were bashing Mami near NSD... this guy, T. Y.

When Ice and is son were going to the press(M. Navarro) to destroy Miami, and Luke was posting disrespectiful things about Golden on twitter before(and after) NSD, coach T. Y was using social media to support the program we love and even trying to make amends. Still, I do not see people giving the guy the love he deserves.

Moar corches like TY and Stephen Field, please.

Amen. Would not be surpirsed to see Bama come in on him. He fits Saban's size profile. Remember in the day how all those high end short FSU coners could not cover our bigger WRs? the opposite would be true. If Golden thought we were going to get hammered, he'd be even more selective in handing out offers. and there's no locking up a verbal commit anyway. if we get hammered, any and all of our "commits" could go elsewhere.

then why read and post on a recruiting board? pulling in talent is the key to getting those wins in the future.
 
Kid looks aggressive but raw on the tape. If the coaches at camp saw him and liked him enough to think he's worthy of an offer, I trust their judgement. There's many many great athletes in SoFla, I have no problem getting some that are raw but willing to put in the work to be great.

Anyway, general opinion of the board..Does this mean we are only taking one out of Lammons and Patton? We got two 6'1 180lb DB studs who can run on board now. And Trayone Gray will prob end up a safety IMO. Or are we potentially taking 4 DBs in this cycle if everyone wants in..?

1. Coach Field has coached at UM during up times here. He knows what UM-caliber players look like.

2. As Bytch Davis has said many times, the key to great recruiting is finding guys who aren't even close to their ceiling. When a dude shows up with no phone wearing a wife beater, it's probably safe to assume that his nutrition and strength training regimens are not world-class. Guys like this can be put in a great nutrition and weight program and get some top-level corching and turn into Ed Reed or Philip Buchanon.

3. Hungry tough head-nodders are what built this program. Entitled, unaccountable, roll-the-helmet-with-the-U-on-it-out-there-and-expect-the-other-team-to-quit guys are what ruined this program.

4. The Don learned his lesson last cycle. He isn't going to allow the pampered "show-me-more-love-or-I'll-pout" and "I'm going to wait till signing day and play a ***gy game with hats" guys to fvck him by the tail again. Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me.

kid looks like a DB all the way and I dont have a problem taking a few ultra athletic guys with good frames (like the Carol City kid and this one) at DB.

these kids will be quality depth at least and could turn into players
