Riley Williams Portal

Marcus Freeman is also one **** of a human being. I think he got there a bit in over his head but I’ve met him before and heard him speak. It’s no surprise that the people that vibe with him stick with the “culture” for lack of a better word
Very jealous that they got him, could be there for a long time.

Or we didn’t utilize him enough. He should have more than 7 catches this year. He could have doubled or even tripled his production imo. I understand we had a number of WRs we had to feed but still.
Were you taking touches away from Arroyo? Williams has talent but he isn’t the same as Arroyo who is as a matchup nightmare.

starting job right there for the taking and the dude says "nope"
It’s generational. Kids think differently, have different priorities and mind set. They will walk on opportunities, BC. I’m 75 and ride herd on 20/30/40 somethings. It’s refreshing, and exhausting. Kids gonna Kid. Move forward. Be prepared to take them back, unconditionally. It’s all collateral damage and positive returns. A Brave new World, sorta. Adapt or Die.just sayin’🙌🏽

We've lacked explosiveness and physicality at that position. Could use a difference-maker here...
At TE? That’s WILD to say. If by explosiveness and physicality you mean 1st round talent then maybe.

But TE is the only position we have continuously produced at.

Njoku, Herndon, Jordan, Mallory, and now Arroyo

We didn’t do it that often and when we did it was quite predictable. That being said, he isn’t Arroyo. Very few players in the country has Arroyo ability as a TE. That being said, he isn’t a below average athlete. I mean look at the VT play. He pulled away from multiple defenders in the clutch. IMO, the kid will have a productive career wherever he transfers. Some players just aren’t a good fit for certain teams. Also, Arroyo maybe the only productive TE Cristobal has ever had as a HC and he brought in talent at those positions.
Jonnu Smith who was offered by.............................

Mario and none other than Dennis Smith his only div 1 offer to fiu..

Which is interesting as Jonnu is a comp i have for Schott in this class.

If you are worried about depth then yeah it’s a huge lost, but in terms of talent it’s not that bad, he’s replaceable.
Just stinks that the days of having redshirt juniors and seniors on your roster that you recruited and developed are long gone. TE is one of the few positions where there’s quality depth to be had for low costs - we just have to pivot

I know Riley Williams wasn’t cheap. So I’m sure they can find a replacement with that $. Klare probably headed to Ohio State so for that price I would hope the replacement isn’t in the portal currently
Tyler Koziel…get that name to the staff

Jonnu balled out under the worst coach I ever saw; Ron Turner. He was a Cristobal offer but I don’t think MC ever coached him. Don’t get me wrong, MC would either sign or have talented TE’s on the roster they just didn’t do much. Even at FIU
