RB targets

My man, I can go digging if you want. You have absolutely had positive things to say about Emory. Not something you passed along.

You want me to also list all of your GREENTREE ALL AMERICANS who literally amounted to nothing here?

Vent? I don't vent. I just call out bull****. Funny how you ignored everything else except Emory. You really think people don't see through what you do? Again, you are 100% an extension of Mario and push out what they want or again, you really don't know what you are looking at. And this is nothing new.
You’re completely full of crap! I listen to all of Dmoney’s podcast podcasts and he has said repeatedly that we need a portal quarterback. He is one of the few people on here, like myself, who have called out the reality that Emery is a below average quarterback and nothing more. It’s dip, **** fans on here that really know nothing about football, they kept saying Emery deserves a chance to be the starting quarterback when he clearly isn’t talented enough to be. One of the main podcasts that was saying this BS was Donno from locked on canes. I called him out yesterday on his Emory BS. Maybe you confused Donno with Dmoney?

Brother I’m about to rant/tangent

Yes you said it a thousand times while people kept claiming he “had no vision”

Lemme vent. One of the things that has ****ed me off the most since Mario got here is our running back rotations. Everyone knows running backs get better with reps

We talk about our second quarter issues? What’s a common theme? Martinez isn’t in the game

Exhibit 400 we had the lead Saturday and the defense finally got a stop. We march and then Fletcher ******* fumbles

The **** is he even doing in the game when Martinez is unstoppable?

If Jeanty was a Cane no one would even know his name because that mfer would be getting 7 carries a game because **** a hot hand. **** a clear cut #1 RB…it’s all about splitting carries
I’m right there with ya. I know these coaches want to get guys touches to keep them happy but a guy like Martinez is a horse. He gets better as he gets a lather ( pause ). He beats on a defense and every tackle attempt gets harder and harder as the game unfolds. So I feel you on this.

Another thing that annoys me is rewarding guys like Fletcher that’s always putting the ball on the ground . After that fumble in the bowl he shouldn’t have been back out there for he next drive. The ball is the program and he’s always being careless with it . If you do something stupid you should punished or you’ll never learn. Thats one of the reason’s we constantly get stupid penalties and are one of the most penalized teams in the country. Mario’s teams lack discipline and smarts. Players take on the personality of their coach.

Good decision by him.

Any RB that is draftable after their 3rd season should enter the draft. Its really black and white imo. Idgaf if you're a projected 2nd or 6th, you should declare.

I suppose now with NIL it's possible to get enough that it can be better financially to be in school one additional year if you believe returning can raise your draft stock to a day 2 pick instead of day 3.... But otherwise you should enter period

Of course, I’ve said positive things about Emory. I’m not out here to rip apart teenagers. But I’ve made my opinion pretty clear that we needed more from the starting QB position.
He’s an adult. Grown man. Can serve our country, defend it. You play the way he did, criticism is coming your way.

This is a BS post. Let me set the record straight on a few things.

First, you know nothing about how I get paid. If you hear an opinion from me, it’s what I believe.

When I told you the coaches were hyping Emory, I was reporting what they were saying. I repeatedly gave my PERSONAL opinion that he wasn’t the guy. If I was spreading propaganda, I would’ve talked up Emory.

Second, I live in the real world. It’s very easy to say we should get every great player. That takes zero insight and is pure fantasy football.

In the real world, there is a budget. We had a horrible defense and have no QB. Where do you think that budget should go?

On the other hand, we had one of the best running games in the country, bring back four OL starters and have three Top 10 backs out of high school. Again, only someone with no concept of budget would demand pouring our limited resources into a hugely expensive back.

Third, I never said Lyle was better than Hughes. You won’t find that post because it doesn’t exist. When @Memnon said it was indisputable that Hughes was better, I said I didn’t know for sure because we haven’t seen Lyle as a featured back yet. He’s a highly rated freshmen that has performed very well in limited duty- he could be great, or he could be average. That story hasn’t been told.

Oregon has the biggest budget in the sport and a complete team. The running game is one of the few areas where Miami was significantly better than them this year. They got a great player in Hughes, and he should have a great season for them.

But in the grown-up world, there are budgets. I encourage you to look at the big picture and stop playing fantasy football. You know better.
You just cut a Roman Reigns level of a promo. Good job my tribal chief.

once again, no one can keep two thoughts in their brain at the same time. It’s possible that Emory showed improvement in practice AND is still not good enough to be QB1 here, and the same person can think both of those things.

I’m not arguing there shouldn’t be a pecking order. I think every single fan would say we should ABSOLUTELY allocate a majority of funds to the defense. It would be a criminal offense not to. Unfortunately, we might have even more holes than we perceived on defense due to a lack of development, but that’s a separate argument. And now we have to spend more on hiring a whole new defensive staff. I would argue we still haven’t done enough to address the defensive side of the ball, considering who we will lose on the DL…

But the fact remains, this is not an excuse to ignore other positions when top talent comes into the portal. Oregon has recruited very well at WR, and yet they go out and add Evan Stewart as a vertical threat, which In turn has completely opened up the middle of the field for Tez Johnson to destroy corners in space.

Like Memnon alluded to earlier, Ohio State refused to rest on their laurels and added Judkins to their backfield, when they could have saved money and rode with Henderson.

Ole Miss dealt with a ton of injuries this year at the WR position, but they kept adding in the offseason knowing enough wasn’t enough. Even with their #1 hurt, they still almost made the playoff because they kept the cupboard stocked with playmakers.

Texas signed 5-star WRs in Johntay Cook and Ryan Wingo the past few seasons, but that didn’t stop them from going out and snagging Isaiah Bond from Bama and Golden from Houston. Lo and behold, their top 2 WRs.

You yourself told me at the tailgate that this roster might cost more than Ohio State - so why can’t we afford an upgrade at a position where we’re losing both Allen and (probably) Martinez? Especially when no matter who we sign at QB, it’ll be a massive drop off from Ward? We have the OL to run behind, why not add a dynamic workhorse and keep Lyle as a dangerous change of pace back?

I think personally, you know the real answer. Miami has lived in an age of settling with what they have. It’s time to stop that and be the aggressors, no matter where the talent falls.
I'd hire this guy.

Ask Allen Iverson about practice. You don’t know what you have until the real thing. I am sure Emory looked good in practice where QBs can’t be hit and for that matter nobody really can be 80% of the time.

Just like they say bowls don’t matter but right when the sec loses the **** talk starts. Then bring up the Acc being trash in bowls it’s “ nobody cares , they don’t matter “.
Or when Cam Ward sits out the last drive of the game, and his team is down by only one.

I’m old school bro. I think if you’re suiting up and walking on the field every second matters. Every snap counts . Tbh I was bothered by the loss Saturday because I believe in momentum and optics . 11-2 sounds so much better than 10-3 especially with the last twenty years. That’s just me though.

Yeah don’t get me wrong I’m all for not wasting Martinez when we don’t need to

I like Fletcher. I like Lyle a lot. I like Allen.

But there’s something to be said for just the feel of a game. We are 1000% pre-determined on snaps and series for running backs before the game

That makes absolutely no sense to me

I wonder if that’s a position coach thing?

KB wasn’t rotating any of the young WRs in.

Dline rotation was interesting at times.

LB rotation was head scratching the last couple of games.

DB rotation was non existent

Stand on business Crib

I feel same way.

We talk about moving program forward have a golden opportunity to win 11 games for first time since 2003, and QB plays a half, we had 2 WRs opt put, 1 portal, and 1 play a half. We were playing our 5th-7th WRs in 2nd half against a top 20 team.

We had a starter UDFA CB opt out, we had to start OJ and Hill at CB, and had virtually no depth for the game.

Culture at Miami still remains an issue IMO.

Hughes had 260 carries... Lyle and Fletcher had 145 combined. I'm not sure this is a position we need to address. Honestly, the RB room with our oline is the least of my worries.

Depending on how much we're willing to spend, I would throw it all on defense and a QB who can do better than 5 for 14
My point is.

A better RB than both is in the Portal & considering we're not going to have anywhere near the same level of QB play next season, it would behoove us to have an Elite RB to depend on.

The mistake that people are making is assuming that the run game will not have a drop-off in play & production, that it will be the exact same & I'm about 99% sure it won't be. ESPECIALLY, once teams see that we don't have a QB who can stretch the field.

Saying we have Lyle & Fletcher already as the reason for not going after a back like Hughes, would be like saying, "We have JoJo Trader & NY Carr, we don't need Jeremiah Smith".

The key to being a better Football team is to constantly improve in all areas & not just stay stagnant. You get as many good/great players as you can on your roster. Turning down talent & production is a risky business when you're not a perennial conference & playoff contender.

You guys think we're just fine with Lyle & Fletcher, okay... Come December of 25, we'll revisit just how fine the run game will be & why we didn't need to add a back with 2700+yds & 22TD's in 2 seasons.
