Chip - will you more likely be AD @ UM or President of the United States?

I'd say AD @ UM, mainly because I'd have the same drive and mentality of Blake James our current AD who I think is doing and will continue to do a fantastic job as the AD. And I love the Canes more than anything so I'd put my heart into it.

Is there such a thing as "AD in waiting"?

Good stuff Chip. Would you side step the stadium issue like Blake keeps on doing though? I would fully back you if you make that part of your campaign. Also, what are your thoughts on getting a new stadium?

Yea the stadium issue I think is a glaring one to fans. I also think it's something to be discussed but with this current regime for Shalala and James it probably won't happen for a while. IF I was the AD, yes I'd try to add that in, but it would be a medium to minor part of the total scheme. Everyone wants to believe that there is somewhere in Coral Gables that can fit a small stadium, and I'm fine with that. If that were the case, right next to Mahoney Pearson there is a field and elementary school that is just there. The school has kids there but its small. That's probably the only place "on-campus" that could house a stadium that fits maybe 30,000. That's not a lot of people compared to the Alabama's FSU's, Florida's and such. But it's intimate and Canes fans can dig it. Then the argument switches to parking. We've all been to Coral Gables, and to put it bluntly parking is a *****. I constantly get tickets due to passes, small lots and a TON of commuters. Not to mention Coral Gables is very compact in terms of its design, streets and housing. So as much as I think it would work, it would be worse off than what they're in now. THE ONLY viable solution that Miami can in fact try to do is move back to the Orange Bowl. That was the perfect location as it was still close, it was in an area where parking isn't a problem and it was big enough that Canes fans could fit it every week. Remember Miami is a private school, so not a lot of people from the school and alumnus can fill a normal stadium. The only way that happens, if Jeffrey Loria (the scumball that he is) decides to finally part with the Marlins after loading his pockets it could work, but then they're competing now with Beckham and the new MLS expansion team. There's a lot of factors fighting against it. But if the athletic department makes a strong enough pitch and can rally the fanbase to donate, there's a snow ball's chance in **** it could happen. But this is all speculative and unlikely. Still a good debate! Great question
