QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

no it doesn't. It could but we refuse. They have to get burned to stop playing with fire.
I feel like we already got burned with the DB/Safety situation last year. It was plain as day we needed some help but they just refused to bring in additional pieces and decided we are fine to roll with what we got. Cost us the playoffs and wasted a generational (for this school) QB.

Hoping we can attribute that to Guidry who probably felt good about it. Just another failure on his shoulders. They tried and missed on nickel's last year too so who knows how they actually felt.

I get it sometimes but it just seems we're too picky. We easily could have had Baron's half brother who went to Michigan from Tennessee. Wasn't great, but he would have been more serviceable than what we had.

This is where I would devote my energy if I were the staff. It sounds like he should be throwing by spring.

Let him work back slowly, fast-track Nickel in spring, and take the field in 2025 with a Top 2 QB in the ACC.
But are we currently working this? I wouldn’t be upset with this, although I do have questions if he will really be ready in time.

To your 2nd point - Mario can’t dink around and have Emory start spring practice getting 1st team reps. Need Nickel to get every snap he can from jump. If Mario does that, then I think we can start telling lies about how he sees things and there’s a hope/vision for the future. Whether we get Beck or another veteran during/after spring window, it should be understood that Nickel will get Lagway treatment of a couple series each game (with a couple exceptions). We do that - that will help us (and not hurt us) with WR recruiting/transfers after next year.

Devin Brown is good - it was a toss-up between him and McCord last year as to who was going to start and most criticized Day for choosing McCord (think he was right in hindsight after what McCord did this year) - not much tape on him, but he's capable

I live in Buckeye country and all my wife's friends are die-hards so I hear all random stuff. If it's Devin Brown or Emory, I'm taking Devin Brown - obviously, that's if we don't find a more proven option in the portal

at this point I'd take a potato over EW

Funny, I moved back to OH from Orlando over ten years ago now, whew

Y’all know beck ain’t coming lol. Even if he pulls out the draft he can just go back to uga. I think he is done and that’s why uga had interest in Mendoza. That guy done wrote his lil goodbye speech and all
If I were an agent, from a monetary business perspective, I'd tell my QB client to declare for the draft and hold out to the last possible enrollment date.

Schools offers would be sure to increase as they begin to panic.

Of course there is something to be said for signing earlier and helping your team recruit players. But I don't think kids nowadays care about that too much. It's mostly about money.

Ya he can enter at anytime and maybe it doesn’t even matter if he doesn’t transfer until after the spring due to his throwing schedule. Just think this week would be key to have enough time to visit, negotiate, and enroll.

But it would be good to get him in the building ASAP. He can at least gel with the players and learn the playbook early.
If he were to come hear, but missed the Spring semester deadline and not officially enroll until the summer, there would be nothing stopping him from being in the building around the team throughout spring practice, no?
