Your faith in Dawson to adapt/develop QBs is much higher than mine. And the point you're missing with the bolded is Milroe has been in college for 4 seasons. He pretty much is what he is as a passer. One of his OC's was Bill O'Brien. If you mean to tell me that Dawson's gonna push a button with Milroe as a passer that O'Brien couldn't...
It's easy to "adapt" when you have Clayton Tune or Cam Ward.Correct. Go watch Dawson’s offense last year at UH, far more QB runs then his first two years at UM.
Think it’s clear that Shannon adapts to what he has at his disposal.
Anyone subscribed to give the notes on milroe ?
OK - then go hire Bill O'Brien as our OC.
milroe is better than emory by a lot but he is not a polished passer at all.Let's replace our ****** QB with a more athletic ****** QB, seems like a recipe for success.
Thanks should have checked but at work lmaoIt’s a YouTube video
Said people at Alabama expect him to move on to the NFL. Wouldn’t be surprised if a desperate team gave him a big NIL offer and convinced him to stay in college.

This is also one of my issues with Milroe. If we bring him in we have to totally revamp the offense, and to something that wouldn’t at all fit what Nickel should be doing. Now, fair to ask if that should matter, and maybe it doesn’t, maybe Nickel isn’t at all what I think he is. But it’s not like we could just trot Nickel out for a few series each game and let him run that same offense, so would we be hampering his development to win 8, maybe 9 games with Milroe? Idk. I’ve always been a “get the talent and fit your scheme to it” guy but I don’t know that the talent is enough in this situation.I think there are a lot of challenges in pulling this off, because of the two totally different styles, but of the optons out there, I would be in favor of Milroe here with Nickel getting Lagway/Arch treatment.
People on here were ****ting on Ewers the last few weeks, Ewers was rated the 5th best QB by Kiper the draft - before his performance yesterday and whatever else he does this playoff runGotta love Miami fans. Milroe is good enough for Michigan but mot good enough for us.
Ah yes, Michigan, the beacon of QB play.Gotta love Miami fans. Milroe is good enough for Michigan but mot good enough for us.
By what account? The price tag was literally most people’s objection.Mendoza would have been perfect. He's a cheap option
I think this would be hard path to go down for sure because you don’t trot Nickel out to run the same plays. You would try to use similar formations and sets but run different concepts out of them. For example, with Milroe, you might call RPO where Milroe runs if he doesnt pass and RB pass blocks/chips and leaks out. If Nickel in, you call RPO that calls for him to pass or hand off to rb.This is also one of my issues with Milroe. Historically, you can argue Michigan is a QB school...but no one is rushing to Ann Arbor to play for vaunted QB whisperer Sheronne Moore and his wide open Mike Leach style offense.Ah yes, Michigan, the beacon of QB play.
I thought I'd never say this, but I'm starting to think that the better long term plan would rocking with Luke Nickell this season, and selling him to the 26 class. Look at what the Lagway effect had on Florida's 25 class. It won't be the result fans here are hoping for, but our current strategy is clearly not working. The fact that it's year 4, and we're desperate for Wrs, Dbs, lbs and even defensive line is embarrassing. I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, but it's something that needs to be considered.
Doesn’t look like he ran a ton but appears to have been ok when he did: https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/clayton-tune-1.htmlIIRC correctly, didn’t Tune run a bunch at Houston?
