Our offense was better collectively than Ohio state.

Best receiver group

Miami receivers >>> Ohio state(they had emeka and j smith plus who else?)
Plus based on this season alone restrepo was better than Jsmith

Miami rbs better>>> osu duo may be better but Miami was deeper at rb this year

Miami te group- >>> better than Ohio state

Miami ol group>>> better than Ohio state
Bruh stopped reading after the wrs part. Cmon man that’s homerism stop looking at the stats fam. OSU has better wrs dog as a whole

Restrepo/George/Horton > Smith/Egbuka/Tate is certainly a take.
They was certainly better in 2024.

You actually believe our receivers are better than OSU's? Seriously?!

If you reply to this citing statistics, you'll be leaving out the most important factor: our WR's had Cam ******* Ward. Theirs had Will Howard. There's a world of difference between those two QB's.

There isn't anyone on earth outside of a Miami message board that would make the argument that Restrepo, Horton, and a couple future UDFA's in George & Brown are better than Jeremiah Smith, Emeka Egbuka, and Carnell Tate.

Good lord. This place is truly special sometimes.

Chasing mateer giving all the things working against you or already in play at ou screams vernell brown/ben hanks 2.0. Don’t even worry about that recruitment go get another quality guy

And there are things working for us like the fact that he talks with Ward, and Ward is currently a Heisman finalist. I don’t get why people think he’s fanatically attached to his OC. Mateer would find Dawsons offense to be very familiar as there are a lot of similarities with WSU’s, so there isn’t some massive advantage in sticking with Arbuckle over Dawson. And if you think Dawson offense had lulls, imagine getting shut out in the 2nd half by 3 win Wyoming, which had one of the worst defenses in cfb.

Handing the keys to a 29 year old OC is a big gamble. We’ve seen other G5 wunderkinds get promoted up to the P4 and get exposed.

Venables has also had 2 6-win seasons in 3 years. He’s already on the hot seat.

It’s about time Miami receivers got more respect, they deserve it. Both restrepo and George had back to back to great years and in 2024 our receivers literally produced the #1 offense. Everyone loves talking about these other schools but Miami was absolutely in that upper echelon too

He ran for the same yardage as Cam did, but just got sacked a lot more.

Cam had 196 rushing yards and lost 142 on sacks = 338 yards
Mendoza had 105 rushing yards and lost 235 on sacks = 340 yards
The fact that the NCAA is still counting sacks as negative rush yards is one of the most stupid less harmful things they insist on doing.

Bro, I love fighting losing battles on this board (see: today trying to make the simple point that Mendoza isn't a statue), but even I gotta say arguing that our WRs this year were better than OSU's is a galaxy brain take

What made them better? Our guys stats were better and you can’t just say cam ward. Those same guys produced a lot last year too with tvd of all people

Not to mention Dawson >>> washed-up Chip Kelly

(Don't believe it ... go back and watch the Ohio State-Michigan game)

You can’t just say because we have cam ward, restrepo was a 1000 yard receiver and George 900 yard receiver with TVD..

A lot of assumptions being made that all will be fine if Mendoza saves us a lot of money and we get defensive players in the portal, but that seems like we'd being taking a huge risk that those defensive players will pan out exactly how we hope. Not saying Mendoza can't be our guy, but interesting how quickly some have decided he's the answer.

There’s a world of difference between giving our receivers more respect and making an indefensibly irrational claim, i.e. “Miami’s WR’s > OSU’s WR’s because of their stats,” that completely disqualifies anything else you say from being taken seriously.
