Average player, high character could develop into something. Would be a disappointment
Plan A has to be MateerIf the plan A doesn’t happen I think this would be a nice backup plan.
Most people just run and look at stats then make their decision. They don’t look at situations, arm talent , mechanics , smarts and what kind of teammate they are. Thats just how this works.247 currently has him rated as a 93 in the transfer portal.
Removing QBs that have a higher rating in the portal because they aren’t far enough removed from their 5* high school rating to drop it too much
Any experienced transfer QB 247 gives that kind of rating, always hit.
agree to disagree bro but dont blame Mario (only for scooping him up) if we get him and it looks real bad. If we get him hope he proves me wrongHe was on the only team that was close to blowing Miami out this year
There’s also other qb’s that could hit the portal. But there’s definitely a pecking order and a guy they want.Plan A has to be Mateer
Will Rogers not ever even think of doing this:
Rogers ran for 395 yards (minus sack yards) across 5 seasons. Mendoza ran for 553 over 2 seasons. There's literally no comparison between the two.
He can throw on the run:
:40 mark
All I'm saying is that on the mobility, elusiveness, and ability to throw on the run scale Mendoza is leaps and bounds better than Will Rogers or other QBs who are actual statues.
Fair enough. Yeah I don't think either of us are gonna convince the other, and I don't want to clog up the board either. Nice chattingThat first play is just him running 15 yards in wide open space. Has nothing to do with pocket mobility and elusiveness, which is my whole point.
Every college qb on scholarship can make that second throw.
But I’ll stop clogging up this thread because we just aren’t going to agree on this, and a few highlights here and there aren’t going to change anything, plus I think we’re about 5 posts away from someone direct comp’ing him to Josh Allen.
Mr. Mendoza, I believe your son is a talented QB, and would love to have him at the U!With a line that barely blocked and a WR corps that starred a walkon by the end of the season. He's really not nearly as bad as people think. He's literally rated higher than Murphy in almost every stat that matters. Murphy had a better WR corps and coaching staff/team around him.
... but I just think we can do MUCH worse than Mendoza
That is completely fabricated. Why are you making up stats?247 currently has him rated as a 93 in the transfer portal.

Who would you like to see Miami take with the options in the portal currently at QB? I'm fascinated.I can't believe y'all are hyping up Middoza
We're not getting another NFL QB, but y'all really want to go from Cam to maybe the 40-50th best QB in CFB?
You used the team with the best skill players money can buy to strengthen argument? Who are our comparable players? This the wrong take, Mendoza is good. Ohio state would be undefeated with him at qb over Will Howard
he won 10 games with anthony brown right before we hired him lolBy now we all know that Mario needs a generationally talented QB to win double digit games (see Herbert and now Ward). If Mendoza ends up as our starter you can be guaranteed we will won't win more than 7-8 games next year and in reality likely less.
Nothing likely about it if I remember correctly the telecast pointed out multiple times that Mario and his dad played HS ball together almost as many times as Tessitore mentioned UGA is in the playoff if they beat GT.We have a vacancy at QB ... Mendoza went to Columbus ... Mario likely knows the family ...
