QBS in the Portal as of 11/28

Why do you keep pretending Mendoza can't move? You compared him to Will Rogers in another thread, which just isn't true.

No one is saying he's as elusive or can run like Cam can (who only ran when he was forced to). The point is that he is mobile. He's a guy you can run read option with and the defense has to account for him. Will Rogers isn't. Emory Williams isn't. TVD isn't
Because he can’t. And because we had this EXACT discussion about Will Rogers last year. There’s a difference in a guy who can run fast when he gets a head of a steam and is running straight. I couldn’t care less about that in a QB. Cam isn’t a 4.5 guy but his ability to evade and throw on the run is what makes him special. Not the fact that a defense needs to account for him running once or twice a game.

If my memory is correct the 28th is the last day to enter the paperwork but then names trickle in over the few days following the 28th. If the kid has decided to leave he can just submit the already completed paperwork on the 28th and his name will hit whenever WSU processes.

But the reality is that coaches are already tampering with him and know what’s up.
Can enter the portal up to 5 days AFTER the team the player is on ends their season.

He’s not a Brad kaaya type of qb, he can run when he needs to

this interview made me want him even more man. Toss up between this and Thomas Hammock after beating ND for best post game interview of the season

Whatever some call it corny but I love this ****. Talking about that’s why they stay til 9pm to watch film, going 98 yards to win the game is ******* awesome for a college QB. Idk if he goes to Miami but I’ll have no problem rooting for him. Like even when Emory broke his arm on that FSU run, same type of energy, Bain talked about it on a podcast how Emory gave them juice.

Will Rogers not ever even think of doing this:

Rogers ran for 395 yards (minus sack yards) across 5 seasons. Mendoza ran for 553 over 2 seasons. There's literally no comparison between the two.

He can throw on the run:

:40 mark

All I'm saying is that on the mobility, elusiveness, and ability to throw on the run scale Mendoza is leaps and bounds better than Will Rogers or other QBs who are actual statues.

247 currently has him rated as a 93 in the transfer portal.

Removing QBs that have a higher rating in the portal because they aren’t far enough removed from their 5* high school rating to drop it too much

Any experienced transfer QB 247 gives that kind of rating, always hit.

You obviously shoot your shot at guys like Mateer, but Mendoza isn’t a bad fallback guy. You have a full year of tape against ACC/SEC defenses and know he can at least move the chains and operate a P4 offense. I’d be much more comfortable with a guy like Mendoza than Mensah. It just depends if you want a higher ceiling or a higher floor.
