Projected Depth Chart 2024

That UF game is going to be an ESPN instant classic…just need our guys to be mentally ready and not listening to the rankings, analysts, or CIS lol……because anyone that believes UF will just roll over and not give their very best punch against an in-state rival in a nationally televised game better think again. Our guys better be ready to get hit in the mouth and respond at some point in the game.

Yep. The best team on paper does not always win.

UF on their home field, being an underdog with a 4.5 win total from Vegas for the season will go into this game with an "Us against the world" mentality.

Hopefully, our team has the same sense of urgency !!

I was bored waiting for Fall Camp to begin so I made this depth chart. The thing that hit me almost immediately was the huge difference in quality depth over last year. There is obviously a big increase in high end/explosive talent on the rooster.

There were several positions that were difficult to project into a depth chart as we have not gone through fall camp yet. Still there were other positions thst were difficult because we have so much more depth and competition. The only 2 positions with a shortage of quality depth and high end talent were Safety with CB close behind. Obviously the actual post fall camp depth chart will differ from mine.

The biggest thing this little exercise showed me was that this 2024 squad is considerably more talented and much deeper than last year's team and in a completely different universe than the 2022 team. With merely competent coaching this is a 10 win team. I'll go on record and state that anything less than 10 wins will be a disappointment.
Nino Francavilla might be red-shirting, looks good 💪🏾

Bend/Don’t Break!?

Let’s call Dorito.

That guy was a genius.

Why attack and slow your opponent down, when you can let them possess the ball 75% of the game and give up 500yds per game?
Now that you mention Dorito, I honestly think that he may be the worst D1/P5 Defensive Coordinator in the history of college football. I can't think of anyone who was as consistently atrocious as he was.

Our 2nd string DE are insane.

You have one player who has made All ACC teams. And another player who was the #1 PFF DE in the whole country.

That's 2nd string lol.

Our pass rush should be relentless all game long.

I do expect to see some Nascar packages on 3rd and long also.

DE: Baron
DT: Bain
DT: Mesidor
DE: Alston
That Nascar package is filthy! The great thing about our depth is that halfway through the season that package could add some new faces like Lightfoot, Bryant, McConathy, Scott ect...

“From the outside looking, DB seems to be the question mark area, with only Porter returning. Powell will play mainly safety this fall, and inexperienced guys like Jaden Harris and Markeith Williams are looking to start opposite him at safety while at corner along with Hill there’s guys like Jadais Richard and Damari Brown (started final four games last year, playing mainly nickel this fall).

“We have to develop to where we have five corners at least to feel good,” Guidry said. “I feel we’re in a better spot this year than we were last year. Safety is where our low number count is and we’re a little thin, so we have to stay healthy.”

Guidry said Powell will play free safety and be spotted in at nickel at times – he played nickel in the spring but played safety at Washington. Guidry said Brown and Richard will play nickel and that right now it’s Brown as the starting nickel.”

Many, myself included, predicted Hill/DPJR at CB and Brown at Nickel with Powell and Jaden/Markeith at S. Sounds like that will be what we roll out initially.

We will have the line of scrimmage advantage but will our guys be ready for the environment is what I worry most about. Will Mario allow the offense to run or will he clam up and just ground and pound all day.

That’s our best lineup and I think they can hold up if Jaden comes around. I worry about brown going against quick/crafty slots but he can be a beast coming off the edge on blitzes and good against the run.

I hope Stafford and Williams don’t end up JAGs. Those two have so much athletic potential. Maybe it’s confidence or mental in some other way? Patterson, Mack and Frédérique are going to have a lot of chances to see major playing time this year.

I’m excited for Stafford, saw he’s up 20Lbs from last year to this year and this is a top 150 player so there is a lot of talent (Rated better than Damari)

If he can come into his own this year like Damari did last year that would give us 5 Really talented CBs in

- Daryl Porter
- Dyoni Hill
- Damari Brown
- Jadais Richard
- Robert Stafford

Been hearing good things about Frédérique too
