He prefaced it by saying coaches are addicts to the pursuit of practice and team prep. He's probably thinking Yearby had a class conflict and had to leave to get it resolved (misses practice), the media interview schedules are a nuisance (yet obligatory..with repetitively dumb ***, questions) that take player and coach prep time, etc., you know, every day stuff that adds up. So yes in that context it's distracting.

I am definitely sure he is anti injury though. Yet, some folks may find fault it that too. Holy sh*t this season can't start soon enough.

Classes are the number one distraction in CFB. As others have mentioned, there is faculty that loathe athletics...Is this the first public shot fired @ Golden by UM faculty?

LOL...talk about blowing something WAY out of proportion! It's not like Al took the job last week and we don't already know what he stands for. He is the epitome of a leader and has done tremendous things for the U. All he needs to do now is win more games on the field. You need to relax my friend.

Don't shoot the messenger. It's been a constant theme with this administration that scholastics are more important that sports. Graduation rates, higher admission standards, the rooster/student-athlete change. Hopefully Al addresses this and apologizes to this brave faculty member.
