You’re not that important and Miami loses money not owning its own stadium. The stadium will still be full without you. Besides, if you’re not willing to drive to Tropical Park for a game then good riddance.

At the end, if the Ruiz family is serious (and we have no reason to think they aren’t) Miami isn’t turning down a state of the art Orange Bowl designed stadium down the street from campus. This would be an epic gift and should be every Canes fan wet dream.
First, I'm not talking about me. Second, I have no problem with Ruiz spending his money on a stadium for us.

I'm suggesting that the attitude of "***** you, we don't need your business" is not a winning strategy.

Actually the architects they just engaged, HKS, are international heavy hitters. They designed the $4B Sofi stadium that is the most state of the art and design-forward stadium in the world. They are very, very expensive, only work on significant and important projects, and aren't going to be used as a PR pawn.

But you know better, I'm sure. Tell us more about how the Ruiz' are just grandstanding and how it's all smoke and mirrors. Every time someone runs their ignorant mouths about them, they come through yet again in a big way shortly after, whether it was the multi-million dollar baseball donation, them basically elevating our recruiting and player retention game to a new level with their Life Wallet NIL deals, and more. Maybe your ignorance can be the catalyst we need.

This same firm created not only the most expensive stadium in the world, but created it in an area that was limited in space, size, or traffic logistics. Literally, town homes are behind the parking structure, & a casino adjacent on the property. Oh! And did I fail to mention that an arena is being built right across the street in the same limited space neighborhood? Or how about b/c of all the activity, a high end casino firm bout out the mom & pops casino to join in on the festivities? Or how high end restaurants have now attached themselves in the same area? Lol

It just amazes me when ppl have very short sighted views of real estate & development. Ppl on here act like Miami traffic is no different than LA traffic or LA fans ain’t outside of the stadium arena zone where they gotta bust down or up 3 hrs. Lol. U name me a metro city w/ a stadium in it & I’ll show u traffic. Lol.

All HKS is doing is “getting started “on a site plan. I can pay architects to get started on a site plan for building a stadium in my backyard as well.

But I mean people can have this fantasy if they want to, it’s not really a big deal. But let’s check back in about three years and see where we are. I’ll check with you dudes on February 8, 2025 to see how much further along we are on the stadium siteplan. Otherwise, check back with me when we break ground. Then you’ll know it’s real.

Owning & operating two totally different things, my friend. SC nor UCLA own their respective stadiums, but they are operating partners.

Also if you can show me the balance sheet from each university (USC/UCLA) in terms of operating the stadium, and then compare it to revenue stream UM realizes from HRS currently, then we can have an intelligent conversation.

The reason y they were used as a “site planner” is b/c the way they constructed So Fi is amazing w/ the little room they had; & of course, chit had to get knocked down &/or bought out to be knocked down for add’l room or parking. I mean it’s still not complete, but if u saw a b4 and after, no mind would EVER thought to build a stadium there. ****, the stadium was supposed to be in a totally different city. For God sake, off one of the frwy exits, there’s still a street named “Stadium Way” b/c that’s where it was supposed to be built. Lol.

Ask & u shall u receive. Pls see page 40 sir. This is for USC:

I've looked into this and thought the area just north of the Earlington Heights Metrorail station would be perfect. The box outlined by 41st street, NW 22nd Ave, NW 25th Ave, and NW 46th St could be acquired for somewhere in the 60-80M range as it's all single family homes and I'm sure the neighborhood would like the economic stimulus the stadium would bring. It's also in the heart of Miami, near 2 Metrorail stops, and the Park and ride story parking garage. More garages could be added along 41st st next to the airport expressway. A easy ride from both UM Med and UM CG campus'.

It is absurd to even consider demolishing all of those homes to build a stadium nowhere near campus. There are about 100 hundred homes and hundreds of apartments under construction and in development within a mile. There is a shortage of affordable housing throughout Miami-Dade and it is being addressed in that community. Tropical Park is the only real option too me.

If anyone is not willing to travel to games at Tropical park then **** them. The casual fan from Homestead, Cutler Bay, South Miami, Coral Gables, Kendall, Doral, Westchester, etc., will make up for the loss of Broward fans who don’t want to travel to Miami …EASILY ! Suggesting Miami should continue to rent at HRS for their convenience is a loser strategy. I’m looking for the best interests of program, and If..and that’s a big IF, Ruiz pulls this off……holy ****!

That’s just one obvious way to generate revenue, there are so many ways for the University to maximize profitable opportunities that most don’t think about.

I never said anything about continuing to rent or what I thought was the best solution. One thing I do know is that the best way to maximize sales is to limit the number of objections of a potential consumer. Telling everyone north of Miami to fvck off we don't care about you is not a good way to get their business.

How? You guys are just talking in generalities about revenue without any real numbers or any hard data.

Sure. My point is just HKS doesn't take any piecemeal gig that walks through the door. They are about prestige. They would tell you no thank you if you walked in without legitimate bonafides. They aren't going to want to be involved in a clown show or underfunded project. They aren't just any old architects. They are a very high-profile and highly-respected leading design firm. They work on massive projects where they have to manage the intersection of PR, government approval and/or oversight, and then some. Airports, renown performing arts centers, government buildings, university expansions, cutting edge hospitals, stadiums, etc. At this level they would be vetting the client, doing an internal feasibility temperature check, etc. They literally have their own internal PR division. Part of their internal PR team's mission is to "develop global communication campaigns that shape HKS' reputation."

Are we going to have a new stadium in 3-5 years? Who the **** knows? We both know how many pitfalls and obstacles there will be to overcome. But if HKS is truly aboard, that tells us that whatever the Ruiz' presented them with was enough for HKS to take them very, f'ing seriously.

Bro; it highlighted how they r profiting from their stadium. Why? B/c they are operating partners; so any events thrown there, SC is getting a cut. The City of LA? They get paid for the lease.

Haven't been paying attention to the Ruiz's lately, has the money been proven to be real?

This is why Broward fans are the ones really against this move. Feel free to stay home when this happens.

I’ll deal with the crazy traffic 7 times a year after an incredible experience at a state of the art OB, gladly.
Enjoy the pretend empty stadium.

Remember when moving the Marlins further south would guarantee bigger crowds because that’s where all their fans were? Lol.

Have these new money billionaires put their resources elsewhere for the program where we most need it. Hard rock is an incredible atmosphere when this program is rolling. We got a taste of it with Richt.
