Patrick Surtain jr.

apparently Ivins posted something about surtain and miami that got SOTU excited on twitter. anyone know what that was all about?

There was people saying Surtain Jr was at the game Saturday with his mom & dad, Andrew is trying to get confirmation on that. Everybody will be at the ND game. Surtain was suppose to attend the Bama/LSU game but he told Bama he couldn’t make it and that has them worried cause it was their biggest home game of the year.

Being that Bama and LSU are the biggest competition for him, the fact that he skipped that games says volumes. He comin.

Mom and dad were at game, supposedly they will be back this weekend, with Surtain JR. too. Oh boy ...

I have to think 1-2 of these kids are thinking twice about committing.

Jobe
Blades
Ivey
Frierson
Cambpell
Surtain

As much as I'd love to keep them all, that's just way too many studs to stick in one recruiting class. Where are they all going to play? At the very least, they have to wait one full year before starting (JJ, Redwine, Young, Bandy will start next year). If Smith or Carter were candidates to MAYBE be a LB, I can understand.

Yeah, I know, sign them all and figure out the rest later. Butm in all seriousness, how will it all work? I see 3 CBs and 3 safeties/CB hybrids.

Alabaga seems to figure it out every year. We should too.

Diaz is playing so many kids, to keep them fresh, it's not like they won't get playing time. Garvin, 3rd string DE, is making plays at important times in the game. It doesn't matter how many plays teams like Syracuse try to run, Miami is trotting out fresh replacements, with minimal drop off in talent, if any, right now. No one who's any good stays the full four or five years anyway. It's also pretty obvious from anyone watching the secondary that Rumph and Banda can coach.

The fact that he went to Miami’s game against VT instead of LSU/Bama game says a lot but who knows with these kids today.

Agree, that's one of the more egregious ones considering how limited they are offensively. I went back a few more recruiting classes and really didn't see anything else like that.

Eh kids should see the amount of players that Diaz rotates especially early in the season. Guys like Surtain, Jobe, and Campbell are likely 3 and done guys anyway. ****, most kids will probably be soon. Guys like Jaquan Johnson and Michael Jackson were afterthoughts before this season as jumping to the NFL after their junior years. Now after both are having **** good seasons? I’m not so sure about that. Both are likely back but it wouldn’t surprise me either way especially with Jackson. Scouts drool over CBs with great size, length, and athleticism. His play has developed so much that I’m surprised he hasn’t been talked about more amongst the media NFL draft guys.

I believe we going to only have dean bandy and young comin back at corner. Jackson gone imo and we could be transitioning to play more dime and nickel
