Yeah no, you get the best players you can regardless if they want to be elsewhere, cause when they sign they are with that school. Some of our all time greats weren’t Canes through and through.

You must be new to recruiting. You know how many kids would have not been recruited to Miami with that attitude?

You need kids with good attitudes, who are team players not selfish, come to work and to win, and aren't mercenaries. Whether or not they grew up loving the Canes is much less important than that they buy into the culture this team is building right now.

Every recruit at the game had to walk up from the field and past my seat. Surtain looked like a man compared to Campbell and Blades. He's just so much bigger.

He walked past my seat as well he was smiling and laughing as a lot of fans were talking to him or calling his name. I was really surprised at how many people knew who he was. I got DJ Ivey to throw up the U as well.
 
Got a chance to talk to him and his dad for a quick second walking out after the game at the valet.. The son said he had never seen anything like that before talking about the atmosphere of the game and how miami dominated. I told the dad how can you not send him to Miami, he told me you gotta talk to him. Looks like its all up to the kid. Saying all that i still would rather have Tyson Campbell...but hey I am not worried at all about our recruiting now everything will fall in place and we will be a top 5 class

Funny how good Surtain Jr has gotten now that we got a small shot at him. Before the season he was overrated and Tyson was better now they are equal.

He is overrated....but it doesn’t mean he isn’t a top tier prospect.

I'm pretty sure most people on here think Tyson is better. Tyson certainly has a higher ceiling.

That being said, Surtain is also a 5* talent. Not sure why it's difficult for you to understand we'd be high on both

WHo sid they were equal? ALso SUrtain is a big kid...much bigger then his dad.I dont see how he stays at corner with that size almost looks like he can grow into a LB or at least safety

Tyson and Surtain are both top 25 players in the country. To argue one is better than the other doesn't necessarily imply that both aren't absolute studs.

Vern Golden relax the kid is a corner this the same thing Al did with Quincy Wilson
 
Surtain reminds me of McFadden you knew he wasnt the best db but if coached up right he'll be a star no question. Sure we want Tyson first but behind Rumph Pat would do work here

Don't get the "with coaching" thing. Hasn't he been coached by a pro bowl CB his entire life?
 
Let's remain objective here: As a prospect, Surtain is arguably the best CB prospect ever. That comes not only from his lineage but also his college ready build and ranking. He could start on the majority of CFB teams right now. With that being said, Campbell's ceiling is unheard of. He's only been focusing on DB for a couple of years and is already ranked as a top CB in the country. Combine that with legit 4.3 speed and his 6'2/3 frame and there is legitimately no ceiling to where he could go. Surtain is better right now that's just how it is but Campbell's ceiling is absolutely ridiculous. Both getting coached by Rumph could be top 5 picks and that's not an exaggeration.
