Part of the problem with Guidry

1. We're still playing the same personnel that keeps failing. 7 is still back there ******** up.
2. Young players not getting any burn as a result.
3. Wrong personnel at corner, DPJ is still playing nickel.
4. Didn't see Popo once the entire game (injury?)
5. Schematically feel like players can't execute anything.

What Guidry calls at times confuses the living **** out of me. Players don't seem to communicate it or get it either. At the same time, I'm seeing OJ yesterday and I'm like... **** is working? Evidently?

I think Popo is injured

How many times are we going to see Kiko 20 yards downfield in coverage where he’s completely mismatched by the RB? As soon as I saw their dude motion to the slot and Kiko follow, I knew we were fckked.

Why the F is Guidry not doing ANYTHING to help? I was actually pizsed when that happened.
You could see that one touchdown coming before the ball was even snapped. Duke got exactly what they wanted on that play and exposed Kiko for a long TD.

Maybe he has unlocked something. He was forced to grit his teeth and play zone defense and it worked. The DL played better (because they had time to operate), we got turnovers, we got stops. This team has been tortured by man beater concepts because they don’t have great corners and can’t pass things off. So PLAY ZONE. He finally committed to that and they played well.

I know we used Bain in more of a 5 tech today but I’d like to see Mesidor do the same on other side. I just don’t like mesidor inside. Especially on first and second downs.
I was literally talking to a homie about this. This was one of my gripes along with Baron always dropping into zone. Been seeing Baron dropping into coverage since Cal. I'm over here wondering why tf are they trying to turn one of our best pass rushers into a ******* off ball LB??? I would rather have Bryant in that situation over Baron, maybe Pickett or even Lightfoot, but not with Baron.
Mesidor and Bain IMO play the same position. They should be DEs on 1st and second down, they should not be playing inside on "run downs", makes absolutely no effing sense.
Kiko is a run stuffing blitzing MLB. WHY THEE **** YOU HAVE THIS MFER OUT IN COVERAGE, GUIRDY???
Wasn't Richard supposed to be a safety?
Wasn't Meesh supposed to be our slot guy at first? I won't harp too much on him because I guess he makes all the calls in the secondary.... but that leaves a lot to be desired....
Isn't Harris better suited at corner rather than safety? So we got mfers playing out of position in the secondary, too, Guirdy?
Seriously, I don't know why 7 and 25 have been playing out of position, I haven't seen 7 play corner or 25 play safety to even know if they suck at those positions as well, but I know 7 sux at safety and 25 sucked at CB until the light came on midgame and made 2 great plays for us and unfortunately got hurt.
Hill flat out sux. 🤷🏿‍♂️ my eyes roll every time I see 19 out there.
But man, thank goodness for OJ Fredrique da Juiceman, only legit CB I see on this team.
Why Guirdy doesn't make in-game adjustments and waits til the half is mindboggling as well.

You guys keep saying " not much of a pass rush".

What are you basing that off of? We have yet to drop 8 and let 4 rush to even know if they can get home or not. Like we legit haven't done it all season long.

We consistently stunt and blitz, with soft coverage behind it, leaving huge holes in the secondary with easy hot reads that nullify any type of pass rush advantage.

So, the talent is good enough to hold Duke to 3 in the 2nd half, but not the 1st half? Gtfoh with that BS.
People don’t know how to watch football. Wide open players 2 seconds after the snap and people want to blame the pass rush lol.

Lol... ****... y'all ready to get rid of Guidry already??? Talk about the importance of continuity huh 🤔🤔🤔. Wonder why he was so loved last year. Y'all believe he forgot how to coach?

You were correct with the first two sentences which leads me to believe this secondary must be so God awful in practice playing zone that he wouldn't dare try it in a game
This got me thinking...in this scenario, Cam would be torching the defense a lot worse in practice than almost any offense we face could. Is Cam's performance in practice making guidry afraid to run certain schemes against average offenses??

Team is definitely slow at play recognition. The slot go on Kiko was as obvious as it gets. The 3rd and 8 to the motion across the formation was obvious on their first scoring drive.

Too many players fail at their assignments. Aldermann should have set the end on a run play but instead ran up field and opened a huge hole for the rb.

We play soft on defense. Waiting for offensive players to come to us.

When a guy who spent his whole career is at a G5, he might be comfortable coaching G5 talent. Pruitt and Quan make plays in limited time yet he won't play them and other younger more athletic kids over upperclassmen who kill us. Almost all the td's against us come off big plays which are given up by Kiko, Richards, and Hill or because of Porter's lazy tackling. How worse could Washington or Stafford be?
It's starting to remind me of the "can he play safety?" video when he said to Paul Williams who's the best safety we ever coached and he said Jaquan Jarrett right away even though they had Reyshawn Jenkins and Deon Bush, both of whom have been in NFL for a long time.
He's not used to this many staffers game planning against him. Duke has five analysts on offense? Just imagine what the playoff teams will have like OSU, UGA, and Texas.

Much like hiring a HC from the G5 sees the big difference in staff size, media time, and the recruiting machine. You can see where those things really hit Norvell, Napier, and Golden.

I know @WestEndZone has talked about the vulnerabilities of the 3-3-5, but I still think it can help us in spots and we already were forced to play it last year. Teams are crushing us with the quick pass game anyway, so having Mesidor and Bain at 5 or 4i at least gives us some advantages elsewhere.

Yes. Rather than depending on using speed most plays it would allow us to have an advantage outside and caving the pocket with power. It would be a nice curve ball. Now it’s mostly finesse / speed rushing.

Mesidor back to DE needs to happen.

Baron hasn't collected a sack since September.
