Part of the problem with Guidry

Guidry is a fine DC. Feel free to disagree but I am a firm believer in talent over scheme most of the time. Our DB/LB talent (or evals if you will) is behind our offense.

Just like I think Dawson is a very good OC but once Cam leaves and we start averaging 30 ppg instead of 40 we'll all be wondering how he "forgot" how to coach offense.

Yall soft. Guidry is good. This secondary is bad and everyone who knew anything knew this secondary would be our weakness. Guidry kept us in so many games last year and his defense has always made money adjustments this year.

LG hasn’t impressed me this year with how he’s used our front. From scheming to personnel . I expected more creativity.

Yeah same. I get Kiko sucks now so you can’t bring him as much as last year when he had 7.5 sacks but at this point Guidry is just banking on the offense putting up 40 while he gives up 39.

We need a bend but don't break defense this year. Offense score over 35 while giving up 30 at most

I think Guidry has so much confidence in the offense that he is “given” more time to make a decision on adjusting. if you think your team will only score 14 then you don’t have the freedom of time as a DC that Guidry has here. Guidry’s goal is probably to keep the other team under 30.

Could be some truth here.

I know we used Bain in more of a 5 tech today but I’d like to see Mesidor do the same on other side. I just don’t like mesidor inside. Especially on first and second downs.

At this point our LBs are such a liability/no benefit, id just start running a 5-1-5 lol.

Tbh we use three DL and two stand up edge guys more than ya think. That’s why I say move mesidor to a five with Bain. That gives us more size on the DL and can won’t have to depend on as much speed rushing / stunts.

Maybe more this week cause I didn't see so much Wes, definitely not all season. Imo we are missing Alston quite a bit.

I think the biggest issue with the pass rush is being too cute with all the stunts and twists. We had a lot of success in the second half with Bain just bull rushing and man handling the tackles. Nothing creative. Btw he low key dominated in the fourth.

Last week on a key third down he had Bain drop back in a zone blitz/qb spy- the play 1 defended a deep pass in man coverage. We won the rep but I will never support that call.

I got some pushback a couple weeks ago when I said he might be our best and most consistent player on the defense this year
