Part of the problem with Guidry

Gotta remember who they played. I watched them beat fsu and they couldn’t complete a pass. Three and out after three and out. They are not good.
True.

At the same time, there were 2 or 3 SportCenter-worthy catches those guys had today. Bad secondary and guys on offense pulling down receptions out of their asses are a brutal combo. lol

Nah bruh you can’t convince me Enos/Gattis aren’t putting up 30 on Guidry lol.

I’m also not convinced that Guidry alone is the one making the adjustments. Hes completely lost me
I’m lol at the Gattis line. Gattis ain’t dropping 30 on a good high school DC. But seriously,
If he that incompetent and can’t do his job, that he’s being compensated handsomely to do…. then Mario will dhow him the door soon enough. I don’t know Mario personally, but he don’t look like the type of man, to put up with incompetence.

Something gotta change bro. This offense is special. We just need them to be average

I was griping in the game thread about this. I was like why is it an automatic first down when a slot goes in motion on third down ?
I genuinely think we’d struggle against the wing-T. Any wingback going across the formation would somehow get lost in wide open space to the eyes of our LBs and Safeties. The lack of recognition is something I just don’t understand.

Y’all are funny, and take **** way too personally.

Last season,”Guidry Da Gawd, LSU coming!”

Now, “F—k, Guidry, G5 ****!”

Who you should be ****ed at is our recruiting guru HC. The problem is recruiting at DB, which is inexcusable at UM. Literally every P4 school has
one competent CB from Miami…. Except us.

Any shift , motion or eye candy is automatic bait. The OC will be taking a photo with one of our back 7 guys on a fish hook

He’s a G5 DC. Nothing more. Schematically he is just as flawed as manny

Lol at the stunts on the d line
This definitely seems true, teams are running the same plays against us and we still cant stop them.. Plays I have seen from VT, Cal, to FSU and Duke.. THEY STILL CONFUSE US AND GET WIDE OPEN..

We even call timeouts for the opposing offense can dial up a shift and motion snap and player wide open in flats

Gattis? Nah bruh. **** no😂🤣😂. But No. Guidry just takes too **** long to adjust to what offenses are giving him. It’s like he sees it…. but he not believing wtf he seeing. Halftime gives him the time to decompress, scrap the original game plan, and finally adjust to what’s going on in the game. Our coverage schemes, ran with the dudes we putting on the field, is ***. Not necessarily cause the talent is bad, it’s because we have a DC that refuses to switch up from time to time. Think of a baseball pitcher that only throws fastballs. If the opposing team can get the bat on it, it’s gonna go a long way. I get it…. Part of the reason he sits on his hands is he’s probably scared of having multiple coverage busts like we saw stay at Cal. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Idk. 2nd half, he throws in some zone coverages , some zone some different blitzes, and we look like a totally different defense. I just wished he would do the **** earlier.
I think Guidry has so much confidence in the offense that he is “given” more time to make a decision on adjusting. if you think your team will only score 14 then you don’t have the freedom of time as a DC that Guidry has here. Guidry’s goal is probably to keep the other team under 30.

We have slow corners lining up in man press coverage and not even trying to jam at the LOS. They end up chasing, never actually in phase (they might be close to the WR but they’re not under control or in a position to do anything because they’re struggling to keep up). I put a lot of that on Guidry. If your gonna play man press then just put R Washington out there since he has the speed to keep up. And who cares if he gets beat. Not like our guys now are dominating. But at least he has the speed to make the occasional play.

Though, the second half it looked like we went with a whole lot more zone and amazingly our guys weren’t getting torched all over the field. Guidry needs to adjust to his personnel and play bend don’t break. He also needs better personnel groupings. Why in the world is Kiko out there in obvious passing downs (2nd and 18 when he lined up over a RB in the slot).

Just made comment we will even call a timeout for them to dial up the play they saw we cant cover in film and yet 5 weeks later, STILL WIDE OPEN
Right when Duke shifted the players instantly got dumb , looming around confused. It’s not really that hard to figure out in man , I promise lol. That’s why I keep saying it’s the dumbest defense I’ve seen.

This is astonishing to me

But I also don’t think the backups are the answer. I don’t even feel like debunking the stuff in the OP because people are all in their feels about backups

But the pass rush has absolutely sucked for a while
