No. You’re criticizing Butch with his record and whatever else you’ve stated in support of that after people raised him as a candidate for an off-field analyst job. You defended Manny non-stop as Head CoRch.

I‘ve rolled my eyes plenty at the BBB crowd cries on here and I criticized him for that flopping disgrace but there is no eye rolling or criticism that’s logical here when talking about Butch the analyst. It’s a no-brainer. There shouldn’t be any discussion beyond that would be great.

I have goofed on and taken shots at Dan Mullet on this board far more than you have taken shots at Butch and if he was an analyst candidate it would be the same no-brainer for me.

You need to separate all the personal feelings and views on that person as an on-field HC or Coach and appreciate the critical football mind you gain in the background.
 
I guess y'all missed the quotes from local HS coaches recently on how Butch would routinely embarrass himself by not knowing who kids were and assuming he was suprising the coach/kid with an offer while the kids were P5 recruits with over a dozen offers already. He's a bumbling old man now.

They totally missed that part.

That sh*t was funny to me to because the school he did it at...Gulliver. It isnt like Gulliver has like 10 div 1 level skills....it likely takes you under 2 mins on a visit there to see who a "dude" is.

I hate to even contribute to the Butch v No Butch argument for the 233rd time it has been undertaken on CIS, but isn’t the discussion about whether we would want Butch to be a recruiting analyst? As in watch film all day and provide opinions on recruits?
if so, then rather then waste time and space debating his merits as a coach and recruiter, lets discuss whether we think he can appropriately analyze film and provide useful opinions, as that is all he would be doing in the role. For that limited role I think we would be crazy not to pay Butch Davis 100-200k (whatever the going rate is).
If you disagree please address why he should not/can not fill that limited role. All other answers are beyond the scope of my question and will be objected to and stricken from the record by the judge. Me.

No. He didn't even know who kids were in his own backyard. Whatever he had 20 years ago is gone. He phoned it in @ FIU and spent half the last decade jobless. UM can put him on the janitorial staff and let him polish the spot 2001 trophy where his name is absent.

Who else besides @CFLCane and @Go Canes!! wants to go on record as saying they wouldn’t have Butch Davis on staff as an analyst?

I want to start a list and post it in the CIS stockade. Better yet, send you guys to the CIS basement like Milton in Office Space… oh… and uh… yeah…. So… I’m gonna need that stapler back.

Listen Lumbergh, Everyone knows Milton won at the end and the "consultants/analysts" were trash. You didn't think that one through pal :D.
