On3 updated 300

Two things. First, if you think these guys are unfair clowns, then ignore their ratings. There's no reason to both complain they ***** us and look at their rankings. Second, and maybe this just goes for 247, but don't they say part of the rating is based on expected development? If so, it makes sense to think a team with a proven record of NFL pics would be expected to better develop a kid than without. And miss me with stats from the early 2000s, we're talking recent success. Yes, Mario has a good record, but not here, not yet. If I weren't a Cane and were making rankings, I'd assume UGA is a better developer of talent right now than Miami until proven otherwise.

Remember all those years we were supposed to face VT for the Big East Championship and possible national title, and they always sh*t the bed at some point? Every year, I refused to believe in them until they proved it. Same with fsu, until Bobby proved it, you always knew they'd lose to us.

So lets go prove it, then in a few years we can see if this is all nonsense or not.
I'd say it's the coaches rather than the school. If Saban became head coach of Appalachian State and got tons of 5 stars they'd still make the league at the same rate.

They are getting exactly what they want. The schools they over ranks love it. The schools they under rank hate it. The one common thread is both sides are clicking to see.

Just stop looking. If you are even just a casual fan do you need some site to tell you that J. Wayne is a big time prospect?

Am I the only one that feels like on3 was created to push Gator commits/targets and give em higher rankings than 247/Rivals/ESPN gives them? I like Kamran James as a prospect but the 25th in the COUNTRY?!?!?! Mizell a top 50 kid? Sheesh

kamran james 204 to 23
aidan mizell 104 to 44
tj searcy 156 to 50
eugene wilson 150 to 62
ja'keem jackson 190 to 119
jordan castell 226 to 130
traylon ray 284 to 139

I've been talking about on3 for MONTHS.

They do not yet have nationwide coverage. The 20 or so websites that they "started" with are heavily skewed to SEC schools. The people doing the evals work for these SEC websites.

No matter what @Liberty City El says about "how on3 is based on algorithms" and whatnot, IT IS SKEWED AND BIASED FOR THE SEC. At least currently. That's unavoidable and inarguable.

And I'm tired of the "just ignore it" nonsense. By PREMATURELY incorporating on3 into the "composite", before on3 is ready to handle nationwide evals, you degrade the evaluations themselves. Maybe someday on3 will be on a par with Rivals and 247 and ESPN, but that day is NOT today.

That's a stretch. I agree the coach is the most important part, but saban wouldn't get the same starting talent at App so he'd put fewer kids in the league there.

This is pretty telling. Only 2 of our commits are ranked higher by On3's rankings than in their composite. One of them is Bobby Washington who is ranked exactly 1 spot higher by On3. EVERY OTHER PLAYER is ranked lower by them.

For a site that claims to be data driven, the odds of this happening are quite low. There's no way every other site likes our commits more than they do.

Mauiga: their consensus #10, but #11 in their rankings
Wayne: 36, 104
Rashada: 51, 193
Riley Williams: 70, 89
Joseph: 119, 245
Aguirre: 133, 159
Stafford: 161, 75
Robby Washington: 169, 168
Tripp: 387, NR (no overall ranking) 25th best at position, 75 best at position according to ON3
Carver: 454, NR (23rd best at position in composite, 36th On3)
Bobby Washinton: 539, NR (49, 37)
Mikeska: 587, NR (32,34)
Emory Williams: 709, NR (34, 25)
Frankie: 1228 NR (79,57)

I noticed this too. After they posted that bull**** article with Rashada's lawyer talking **** about UF and how Miami paid a made up amount for Rashada, I thought there was something sketchy going on.

I know that. I'm saying if he got the same 5 stars, he'd put them in the league at the same rate. It sounds like what you're saying is if Miami got a 5 star in the past, he was less likely to make it to the NFL. Therefore, ranking should drop for new 5 stars. But that's not the same as saying if Saban only had 2 and 3 star recruits he wouldn't put them in the league.

I think 247 is going to make changes to their composite. I exchanged some messages with one of their higher ups after he messaged me from me tweeting at them lol.

He wasn’t specific as to whether On3 was being removed or just devalued but he agreed the Wayne situation was awful and they were going to make some changes.

Some of you refuse to get this is a money making venture driven by paid subscriptions.

Objectivity will always take a back seat to skewing things to maximize profits.

Want proof?

Look no further than the **** fan on here openly questioning why their guys are ranked so high.

Stop it.

All 4 (Rivals, 247, ESPN, on3) are driven by paid subscriptions. ALL OF THEM.

That is not a license for one of those four to be SO FAR OFF from the consensus of the other three.

The reality here is that Miami has NO chance of finishing with a top 5 class if On3's rankings are used in the composite. I really hope 247 rethinks including them.

I want to make this clear.

I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE CONSENSUS. At the end of the day, the consensus is supposed to be an AVERAGE of all 4.

I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE ON3 STAND-ALONE, WHICH IS COMPLETE GARBAGE. The on3 network is NOT nationwide yet. They do not have enough coverage to do fair and accurate evals OF THE WHOLE COUNTRY. CaneSport just joined a couple of weeks ago. Warchant is supposed to join. Otherwise, the ENTIRETY of coverage and evals for the State of Florida was handled the the Gaytor site. Any surprise why Gaytors are valued so highly by on3?

on3 may be valuable SOMEDAY. But not today. 247 needs to eliminate on3 from its composite until on3 has a website for every Power Five program and they have shown that they have adequate coverage OF THE ENTIRE COUNTRY for the purposes of doing fair and accurate evaluations.

Go to the CaneSport site and you will see Gary Fur-man making repeated excuses for the on3 network (as it relates to Jaden Wayne's on3 STAND-ALONE ranking), by blathering on and on and on about how "most of Jaden Wayne's video was as a wide receiver". BULLCRAP. The kid had all of 18 receptions last year as a WR, BUT HE HAD 44 TACKLES AND SIX SACKS. So (a) why is it impossible to find video of Wayne's defensive plays and/or (b) who in the **** puts a video together for a DEFENSIVE END and then only includes pass receptions?

The real answer is that it's bullcrap. on3 doesn't have enough staff to see players in person, so they rely on whatever videos they can scrounge up. It is literally THE WORST evaluation site out there, and needs to be removed from EVERYONE's "composite" system.

Does this quote ring a bell?

“They do not yet have nationwide coverage. The 20 or so websites that they "started" with are heavily skewed to SEC schools”

This is the very definition of catering to their subscriber base.

Rashada from 51 to 191. Wooofff, lol - 11th best QB.
doesnt matter how who the QB is IMO, when UGA won it was just a stacked roster. I dont even know the guys name who won lol, Rashaa can throw thats all that matters, he will have a monster OL an wrs to throw to...........give me a monster RB.
