It is a message board. We are also supposed to be fans who keep up with our team. The fact is Golden took over a .500 football team and all the upperclassmen left after last season. Now he's got a roster of 55 true Sophomores and Freshmen that are fighting like **** but haven't put it all together. Being unrealistic and calling for coaching change at this point of a rebuild is beyond insane.

You do realize your on a Canes specific board that is an offshoot of another board some of the same posters that have been posting since 97'?

So yeah, I think we keep up with our team. I've heard these same comments from the Randy crowd. Just wait till he gets his guys in here. Then we will see.

Funny thing is Golden has the same or close to the same record as Randy did at this same point.

Well then act like you do keep up with your team. I've had season tickets since 1981 so this sure as **** isn't my first rodeo. It took Butch 5 years to get to that Sugar Bowl game to beat up those Gators on Bourbon street and then stomp them on the field. Have you forgotten the Syracuse game where Miami got beat by Syracuse 66-13? The fans were brutal on that man and you claim the fans didn't run him off? The fans had no vision then and continue to have no vision to this day.

You wanted someone to convince you why Golden should stay after this. Are you unaware that there's 55 true Sophomores or younger on the roster? You do realize all the upperclassmen left after last season correct? Did you forget walk on's were playing at WR the last spring game? Did you forget all of the DT's are true Sophomores or younger because the last coaching staff didn't recruit DT's? Same went for LB's and DB's. You do realize when Golden took over Jacory Harris and Stephen Morris were the only QB's on the roster and Jacory led the nation in INT's and was in his final season right? Golden took over and the NCAA investigation was dropped on him like Hiroshima but that's just an excuse right? That shouldn't be a distraction at all. The typical fan on here would have no problem working through that while trying to overhaul the roster with quality recruits, overhaul the strength and conditioning program, and get the team to buy in to the new system.

Like I said, if you follow your team so closely then act like it. Pretend like you've been through a rebuild before.

One other thing, please don't mention Golden in the same breath as Randy. They're not even the same galaxy when it comes to coaching. If they were Gabe Terry and company would have vanished to a doghouse never to be heard from again, think Tommy Streeter.

I won't compare Golden to Randy, don't you compare Golden to Butch. Butch rebuilt this team while on probation. The verdict is still out on Goldens talent evals in the recruiting world. Lets hope and pray he is even close to Butch in that regard!

I never compared Golden to Butch. I mentioned the plane flying over the OB with the banner that read "From National Champs to National Chumps, Thanks Butch" while Butch was putting together the greatest CFB team of all time while our fans dumped on his head. I would compare Golden to Jimmy Johnson before I compared him to Butch. Both have Masters in Sports Psychology and great hair. I think Golden will compared to all of our great coaches once all is said and done. Miami is going to be very good real soon.

McGhee is as good as he is because of Golden and his coaching staff. McGhee was charmin soft and couldn't cover a lick before Golden got here. **** Gunter is already better than McGhee and this is his first season in the system. We wouldn't even be mentioning Finnie if it wasn't for Golden snagging from South Carolina before signing day. The CB position was so bad we took Mike Williams who couldn't even start at Wake Forest???

Butch took over in 95' and started probation for 3 years I think. We lost 31 ships which really showed up in 97 when he went 5-6. He came back the following year with a 9-3 record.

This is all meaningles to me. We are not talking about preseason and trying to come up with excuses why we can't win games. We are 10 games into the season discussing why we just left a win on the field for the second time this year.

Who from our junior and senior classes do you think might get drafted? McGee maybe in late rounds? Seantrel maybe in late rounds? Linder same? Telemaque? Highsmith? Morris? Mike James (as much as I love the guy)? Buchanon? We may be lucky if 2 or 3 of those guys get drafted at all, much less any in the early rounds. I seem to remember a NFL scout recently saying that he was shocked how little talent we have. If we had talent, we wouldn't have been projected by everyone to win 3-6 games, even if they weren't sold on Golden as the CEO.

You're out of your mind! No one is saying there isn't talent on this roster now. The problem is there's no experienced talent and zero depth. There were no QB's, WR's, RB's, DT's or DE's, LB's, or DB's on this roster developing when Golden took over. The only reason you can even mention talent is because it was brought in over the past two seasons when Golden overhauled the roster like a madman.

Funny how you mention adjustments when the last coaching staff didn't know what an adjustment was. The fact that we're actually making any adjustments is a step in the right direction right? If Perryman and Bush hadn't injured and Johnson not get himself in trouble we wouldn't be having this discussion. You can't lose your three best on a defense that's already young and has no depth and expect dominance. Anyone with half a brain would understand that.

However, how familiar does all of this sound? "The cupboard is bare guys! We have a punter playing WR guys! Our talent is just too young"

Again, this is why it is stupid to take a side either way and why it's perfectly reasonable to be skeptical/question Golden so far.

I'd also like to know why Golden came in without excuses, saying he wants to win right away and he now falls back on the youth excuse. It reeks. Same as Dorito claiming we would have a philosophy of "players not plays" when the exact opposite has occurred.
