pnot saying I truly believe this to be true, but I'm not doubting it from rumblings.
 
Funny.. RandomWalk claimed that Mario was an inch of being hired by FSU... now Coley maybe leaving FSU for us.... I highly doubt it, but sheet. We hired 2 Gators (Hill and Fisch) and brought Kehoe Back so Anything is possible.

PS.. I hate that 'fear the spear' bull****

No way they bring that back of d*cks Coley on staff. He has trashed Al and UM non-stop since the yahoo story broke, and even before that. He will have to stay there and be an OC whose boss doesnt trust him to call plays
 
IF this is legit, I really do not know if I like it or not. To be fair, I did not really care for the Jedd hire either but he did okay. We know the guy can recruit and we know kids like him. We would lock down So. Fla, BUT I'd rather have a coordinator that is a great play caller and game manager. IDK if Coley is that dude. I guess we will see. This may be a good idea IF Al is confident in his ability to manage a game plan because his recruiting acumen would really really help during scholarship reductions. We shall see I guess

I agree with you, he wouldn't be my top choice either. That said, he's been hired by the best coach on the planet(possibly of all time)...twice. I think he's certainly qualified and hardly the WOAT.

Seems like he's a guy that people like to have on their staff. But he's been an abysmal failure every time they've promoted him to OC. Might be one of those guys who is a good team guy and a valuable guy to have around, but he just sucks as a coordinator. Not everyone is cut out for calling plays. It takes a special guy to operate that quickly and under that sort of pressure.

Yeah, I totally agree. I was just pointing out that it just seems everyone thinks the guy is a dumpster fire and Belichick disagrees that he's a horrible coach.

Coley is OC for Noles but doesn't call plays.

Guy is supposedly very sharp.

I am sure Al would forgive him if it means Alex Collins, Stacey Coley, 6, Keef and Denver to Miami.

This story has legs.

Thats a good counter. Id be shocked but it could happen. Id have a hard time hiring a guy who had been bad-mouthing me non-stop since I was hired. College football is a whole different world though

Doubtful Al will hire a **** like that who has never called plays at this level just to get some recruits he's probably going to get anyway. I don't want our offense to look anything like fsu's anyway. Feh!

He's also from Miami and once worked at Sun Life Stadium. I remember his name surfaced in regard to the FIU head coaching vacancy. Not inconceivable he got comfortable with the idea of moving back here during that process, and now it surfaces again via another opening.

This is similar to the reason I mentioned Ed Warriner from Ohio State. I was trying to think of someone who was highly rated but probably frustrated, since his actual responsibilities lagged the job description.
