Now the bad news

Apparently Thomas informed coaches he's not coming to Miami and its part of what led to the Kirkland situation. This happened before yesterday's events and there was a meeting with Thomas last night but highly doubtful at this point. That's all I have right now on this. When I get more I'll share.

Is this a source or just word goin around?

but, but, but everybody on here said RW and all the FSU prognosticators are idiots and were pulling **** out of their asses?!

thomas not taking a true official visit likely hurt big time. regardless of the spin by many on here, a mid-week visit is NOT the same as an official visit.

He did take an OV it was a mid week visit

not to belabor the point, but you can characterize a mid-week visit an OV, but it is not the same as the atmosphere and time spent over a weekend with the coaches and other recruits (particularly the weekend thomas was supposed to come)

He spent time with recruits at the best on-campus event Miami has had in years. Beating #1 Duke by 27 points. Collins was there, Carter was there. Duke was there. Golden was there. 7,000 delirious Canes fans were there. So were about 200 sad Duke fans

Since 2000 or thereabouts, just where are all these fabulous 305ers? Been a pretty dry hole recruiting-wise for the last decade with just a handful of exceptions. 305 ain't what it used to be???

Sean Taylor Gulliver Prep Frank Gore, Kenny Phillips, Antrel Rolle, Jon Vilma, all from Miami just to name a few pro bowlers. AJ too. Roscoe Parrish was 1st team all acc, Devin Hester from near by Sunrise by all the other guys were Miami kids. Sean Spence another all american, Brandon Harris was all acc soph and jr year,

Boy is your contrarian schtick getting really effing old. Every time I see you post it's a post the separates you from the masses and is an attempt to hold yourself in a higher light. So here...

there were a number of posters expressing serious concern about the mid-week visit bull****. it was a valid concern, as it turns out.

this is yet another example why the many irrational posters on here who speak with conviction that we have all the S. Fla. recruits on "lock" would rather circle jerk in their echo chamber, rather than have a discussion about legitimate concerns. in other words, not every negative post means the poster is "jumping over the cliff" "soft-shouldered" etc...

and there you go again playing - in your words - "message board traffic cop" Maybe you should take your own advice and "hit the ignore button."

Once again, I'm going to broach the subject of sabotage.

With Ice's recent tirade and media campaign, his own movements now come into question. When 6 was all set to cancel his 'SC visit on the 18th and visit UM, Ice stepped in and told him to visit 'SC, due to a prior commitment to visit that had already been made, regarding visiting SoCal. He has now just recently cancelled his Georgia visit, when that date has been set in stone for some time.

I'm throwing things at the wall at this point, but humor me...

Only Miami would have to fight off not only other schools but the coaches of its two biggest prospects.

Liuget, Lemonier, Lamar Miller looks pretty good and in the league, Lavonte David, etc.

The city's still producing, the problem is a large number came to us and never developed.

To me its pretty clear Ice is no friend of Golden and his staff.

Too many put their careers in the hands of Shannon as well. Look at it from an objective point of view kids like Liuget and Lemonier made great decisions and kids like Geno, Bailey and Rhodes were lucky Miami didn't want them. We need to get back to developing kids. Whether they have 5 stars or no stars, in-state, out of state. The fact that Arthur Brown couldn't sniff the field here but goes elsewhere and becomes an All-American says it all about the previous regime. Lets hope Golden can work his magic that he did at Temple moving forward.
