Now the bad news

No one here knows ****.

Todo esto. Whatever people do know, and it's probably legit that they've heard, is a bunch of rumblings. That's not a shot at anyone in particular. It's a reality of recruiting. It's more of a message for the guys on here who haven't been through this before. Just let things play out.

Over/under how many times the info swings from here to singing day?

2x a day on average?

This is how I explained the last 7 days before signing day to a friend of mine:

You remember in the movie Jurassic Park when the TRex first breaches the fence and the kids are by the car? This enormous dinosaur is almost face to face with the freaked out kid. The doctor/historian guy tells the kid to stay as still as humanly possible. Think of all the stories and rumors this week as the dinosaur, we (as fans) are the kid and movement is any worry.

So does that make Ferman the tiny, frilled, poison-spitting dinosaur?

FSU insiders were 100% certain that Willie would sign with FSU

So was every UM insider with the exception of KentuckyHurricane. Right up until he announced.

Yup. And in the end, nobody actually had inside information on Willie. Just that both staffs felt good.

I do remember after his UF visit somebody coming to grassy and posting about how he heard Willie got in trouble up at UF lol

Does Keith Bryant not strike you as the Willie Williams of this class? Lots of self-promotion during recruitment. Let's hope he actually puts in work.

Cash, you're doing it wrong. After a day like yesterday, you are supposed to follow up with good news, we had the bad news already

Haha I proceeded it with good news lol. Couldn't have back to back bad news, cliff jumpers beware. To make it worse my info guy just got on a flight from Cali to Nashville so I'm stuck for a bit.

Sorry, saw this post before I saw the Collins thread, my bad

This sucks.

It's not over this is the beginning then on signing day we will be happy with the results....

If anything, this news increases our chances with Thomas. Not that they would be particularly high, but if we were previously attacking the situation from a perspective where we believe ourselves to be the leaders, we would have quite a different strategy than we would have had had we known that we were behind either Bama or FSU.

Now, we can attack the situation from a position of knowledge. We may have gotten this information a little too late to really do anything about it, but I have to believe it gives us a better shot than we would have had otherwise had this situation not blown up.

Easily. Keith is one of the bigger clowns we've ever recruited.

So, it's NO but then he meets with our coaches and its maybe YES, but between now and then, maybe he wakes up on the left side of his bed and feels like maybe he should go to FSU and tag half of FAMU, but then on signing day, maybe he realizes he's going to miss his family and rather stay here, blah blah blah.

These kids are morons, and their minds change every friggin day because of that -- irrational actors don't adhere to strict principles or logic or to a set of calculations. So, unless a kid publicly commits to us, or tweets a picture of a recently-added "U" tattoo, I'm going to wait and see what the fax machine reveals on NSD. Yea, I'll follow and listen like everyone else, but people shouldn't be overreacting to anything coming from an insider, because that information usually reflects subjective perceptions of highly fluid situations.

I think you're underselling these kids a bit. Look at all the kids that skipped town on Randy and Coker. They're not as dumb as we think.

I spoke to Lamar Thomas about his recruitment and he told me growing up he was a Gator fan, but he made a "business decision" to go to UM because UF had Emmitt and a running offense and Miami was gunning it. I have no doubt MT6 has some love for this program; but really, if he goes to Bama, can you blame him?

Not one Iota. BAMA has EVERY resource available to their players. Miamis playing catch up when it comes to the total football program. Not Goldens fault. It's going to take time and MONEY but it Can be done.

The thing with keith is, at this point, I don't believe we have to have him like I believed we had to have Willie or like I believe that we have to have Thomas. So, all of his trolling doesn't even bother me.

Since 2000 or thereabouts, just where are all these fabulous 305ers? Been a pretty dry hole recruiting-wise for the last decade with just a handful of exceptions. 305 ain't what it used to be???

I agree. It's almost funny that way. Now, Patrick Johnson was a different story. That was a kid I legitimately despised because of how he acted and shopped himself.

Rumor that even Patrick had tried to get back in on the final day and Randy wouldn't take him.

I remember that...dumb move; he would have been the most talented player on the team from day 1. But he was a certified dip****.
