NCAA To Announce Punishment at 10am Today

I wouldn't be shocked if they vacated wins as a cosmetic punishment. That would help satisfy the masses.

Probably some games that were played in by the kids who took suspensions in 2011.

I could see limiting us by 10 scholarships per year over 3 years. We would have to appeal because we have 26 commits; however, we are playing with 75 right now. It would mean being able to offer 15 scholarships during February 2015 and February 2016. We would be losing roughly 25 players each year, so in our worst year, we would be at 65 players.

No additional bow bans, though. Sounds like Golden already knows that (i.e. see his recent comments).

I think 10 is the sweet spot where we wouldnt appeal

they can also limit just the 85 man cap, the 25 per year cap, or both

O$U got only the 85 man cap limit iirc which is really not a big deal at all

Miami is NOT planning a news conference related to NCAA decision tomorrow. I have no idea what to make of that.

AP review of documents in this case show NCAA accounted for $173,330 in extra benefits. Of that, $90,000 went to Wilfork and Rolle.

Now, to be fair, the NCAA also says that $173,330 figure is "at least." Still, well short of Shapiro's claim of millions.

Of which he could prove NOTHING and he claimed he purchased a used washer/dryer.

WEAK ****

Take away the $90K for Wilfork and Rolle, you've got $83K. Which is exact amount UM struck deal to play Shapiro bankruptcy attorney in 2011.

Reductions would not go into effect until 2015 class. This class will not be affected if we do not want it to.

I expect no further bowl bans but that most will not be happy with the scholarship reductions. My jimmies will be rustled for all of 48 hours and then I will get back to enjoying this amazing season.

Saul,

The fans won't be able to understand it regardless. We have been playing at 75. What NOTICEABLE effect has that had?

As the board's Consigliere, you know as well as anyone that UM fans think the world is ending when any news drops regarding the program. When the NCAA announces the loss of 15-20 ships, you'll see the reaction. How can we compete with FSU? Look at what's happening to USC! Golden will assuredly leave...

Yeah but can we afford to keep Golden?

I'm more concerned with how badly this is going to affect Miami's chances of building an on campus stadium in the immediate future.

Really, really? OK I get it...sarcasm, said Sheldon.

A terrible claim, is a terrible claim.

I'll be happy with no more bowl bans, no scholarship reductions, no coaching or practice restrictions, and reparation from the NCAA of around $10,000,000.

We aren't getting another bowl ban. The sanctions will be small and we won't appeal. book it

Any vacated wins?

Not sure if this is serious but would you care if they vacated all wins from 2004-2012.

I would hate to lose that MPC Computers Bowl trophy, where would we even mail it?

Since that company went bankrupt, the trophy would be sold by the bankruptcy trustee for the benefit of the creditors. Maybe the NCAA can help with that bankruptcy case.

Not well versed in how the NCAA works but Rolle and Wilfork were on the 2001 squad, that's what I'm worried about.

I am aware, it was a joke. Nothing will happen to that 2001 team's victories.

10 per year will be devastating. that would be as severe as you can get at this point.
