Who said that Emmert won't be at the press conference tomorrow?
If this is true then it's definitely a good sign. He was front and center when the NCAA announced the Penn State sanctions. I would imagine his smug ugly mug would be all over the news tomorrow if they were planning on hammering us.

Pres Donna and our AD Blake wont even be here tomorrow. They have other events in different states and didn't feel it was necessary to change them. That bodes very well for us in my estimation.

why would they want to hold a press conference to breath any more life into this thing than it has already? not to mention they don't want to add any distractions to the game prep for WF. i take nothing away from this.

Sauce???

President Shalala is in Chicago for an Alumni Association event tomorrow: https://advancement.miami.edu/NetCommunity/event-registration-forms/event---impact-of-u-registration
I have to believe she would rearrange her schedule and make herself available to the press if the news was bad/significant. Of course that assumes that the University receives advance notification of the ruling in some capacity.

IF the basketball and football programs were going to get destroyed, considering how vocal she was after the NCAA's mistakes she would be expected to be out there front and center. You think them being at a news conference after we got hammered would be the focus and would breathe more life into it? Don't think so. The story would have plenty of life if they tried to bend us over.

Uhh apparently you didn't see Donna's reaction to the allegations. Front and center and ready to challenge everything the NCAA said. So yeah thats a stark contrast between the two. Didn't think I needed to spell that out.

She'll be on the teleconference call I believe, but I don't think they are in a situation where they feel its necessary to drop everything and jet back to Coral Gables today/tomorrow.

do you always get snide and act like a jerk when someone respectfully disagrees with your opinion?? btw i do not believe we get hammered either so we are arguing over semantics. i just don't believe they want to have a quick press conference regardless of what happens. if something bad happens they will want time to formulate a response.

It would be badass if Golden holds a press conference in the Edge James meeting room with all 100+ players behind him and says something to the effect of....

We have been wronged over the last 2 1/2 years
Other teams have kicked us when we were down
These kids behind me have been punished for transgressions they had nothing to do with
but every single one of the chose to stand with the U in the face of adversity
and now that this has finally come to an end, you better watch out for the Miami Hurricanes....

Drops Mic and walks out of the room with all the players following him.

PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN!!!

Nope, not at all.

Is there any doubt that we already know the sanctions? Golden didn't seem too rustled on the radio this morning....I think we good to go.

And Joe Rose didn't mention it for the first time. Maybe Al told him not to. But Al did seem in a good mood for someone whose QB too such a liking to the wrong jersey. But I saw where the NCAA asked about the TV appearances Miami expected to make the next 3 years. TV ban would be the ultimate death penalty. Can't imagine. Not even PSU got that.

I guess with all that's gone on, I've never seen any indication that coaches knew about players getting money? The NCAA says Rolle and Wilfork got 90k between them, but is there proof, besides Shapiro saying it twice, and did they say any of the coaches were involved?

I've never understood how they've said this was LOIC, when even they said that Shannon was never involved. I think the LOIC came from two employees from outside the athletic department supposedly finding out Shapiro was starting a sports agency, but they didn't tell anyone in the athletic department?

I still dont quite know how they stitched everything together to come at LOIC but i guess we will find out tomorrow.
