That boy dont look ready out there.. Baker essentially said he looked ridiculous and if Carter wasnt ejected he would of sat him on bench for Knowles.. But since Knowles was already on field we had nobody else to play.. He might be the john campbell of the defense where he can still be a player but he got no reps last year and he need a lil more time in practice to get it down pat.He played slower this game than the last, where it was more of a mixed bag. He's visibly pausing to not misstep. He's way better than he showed and I'm sticking with him. Still early for him in this defense. I was worried about a DT disruptor stepping up and our Safeties early in the season. Said that all offseason and got told we'd have a dominant D. It's not easy playing Safety in this defense. But, Hall has the tools to do it. We'll see.
I know you liked Hall a lot coming in. So did I - thought he was one of the hardest hitters I remembered seeing at the HS level. Seemed fearless.
He is playing slow and timid. Always a step behind. Never looking to get involved in group tackles.
I saw him get aggressive on a few safety blitzes, but he never got home.
Crossing my fingers that Bolden brings the skill set I think he will. If so, it’ll allow us to shuffle other guys around in the secondary and maybe find some combination that works.
But But But Manolo is so hip and savvy on social media. Prediction - his hashtags will double the number of victories in his tenure. #scarfacewannabeSick to my stomach. If anyone watched those last two games closely and thought we weren't capable of easily being 2-0, I don't know what to say. This is the first game since Golden's last season where I refuse to chart the defensive plays. Barely wanna talk about the plays that happened.
I only have one wish:
Please stop talking so much **** and exerting so much energy on hype and marketing before anything is proven. Program was in the gutter and needed a boost? I get it. You can still fall short of crossing the line into nonsense.
Just change the order of things now. There's still a chance to be a program of substance. We sure as **** have more talent than anyone else on our schedule. However, the superficial approach is NOT what JJ and the older teams did; I don't care how many times it's referenced and misunderstood. Those teams killed, and then danced.
You have a high standard? Great. Everyone is gonna be held to it? Awesome. Is there a need to talk about it and other details so much before it bears any fruit? Because when the details are missing from special teams, switching out one of the two vulnerable Tackles a game late, 2/5ths of the game to get going, or a 4th and 17 (the world's most predictable late DB boundary blitz), it looks ridiculous, ya'll.
Empty shell of a program until we understand that hype and bull**** come after the proof on the field. It's not a big ask. Most of us are still gonna be out there for every game, so we shall see.
Maybe that's just it. All of that was for show. Think about it. Spring game at camping world to get the players familiar with their surroundings and routine. What did that actually do in all honesty. The stage still looked too big for the team with all the missed tackles and overall lack of discipline. The staff wants you to think they're prepared and meticulous. It's prep. Bottom line. And, that's what this post is about. I find it incredibly odd that a coaching staff so prepared and detailed in their communications brought a slow-starting team to UNC with two weeks off before the game. That **** just doesn't align.
I care less about the talk and hype and more about being typical Miami and giving up a 4th and 17. Get some professional high end assistants in here on defense and stop this buddy buddy ****.
Shanny has basically hired a bunch of his sons Jon Richt style on D.
Compare our prep on D to the unique **** Venables and crew busted out for Tex AM. He was dropping 8 regularly and randomly sending 6 with perfectly timed and executed blitzes. He completely mind fcked Jizzbo and crew all day.
You're generalizing, though.
Please stop talking so much **** and exerting so much energy on hype and marketing before anything is proven.
amenMine is show up for games. Stop acting like you’re too good for the ACC coastal.
When’s the last time we got up for an opponent that wasn’t a rival?
You never stop marketing, marketing (trivialized as talking) is not sharing your opinions; it’s literally programming people how to think. Why do you think companies like McDonald’s are so successful? Even if you have an inferior product, you can compensate and multiply sales with effective marketing.Sick to my stomach. Spot ******* on.
Paper Tigers
I hear you. But me, I can't stop watching the Canes play. Afterwards I say to myself, Why do I do this to myself?100% agree. Put the jewelry away until you’ve clinched the Coastal (if that’s even possible).
Another thing that makes me sick is players posting their highlights within 10 minutes of a loss.

You market your strengths and you market your weaknesses even harder as strengths, this is consulting 101. The real problem is managing expectations. The overriding issue Manny has is trying to deprogram and reprogram a bytch that is used to being in an abusive relationship. We have fans blaming Manny for everything that has happened in the past. So much “you’re just like him.”
You’ve got a good man that can lead you to success but you can’t accept it because you are so scarred and so scared and so familiar with hurt and pain that you have become attached and addicted to it; it’s part of who you are. Until you embrace a new reality, you will never appreciate what you have right now. Physician, heal thyself.
