My singular wish for this team and program going forward

Mine is show up for games. Stop acting like you’re too good for the ACC coastal.

When’s the last time we got up for an opponent that wasn’t a rival?

He played slower this game than the last, where it was more of a mixed bag. He's visibly pausing to not misstep. He's way better than he showed and I'm sticking with him. Still early for him in this defense. I was worried about a DT disruptor stepping up and our Safeties early in the season. Said that all offseason and got told we'd have a dominant D. It's not easy playing Safety in this defense. But, Hall has the tools to do it. We'll see.
That boy dont look ready out there.. Baker essentially said he looked ridiculous and if Carter wasnt ejected he would of sat him on bench for Knowles.. But since Knowles was already on field we had nobody else to play.. He might be the john campbell of the defense where he can still be a player but he got no reps last year and he need a lil more time in practice to get it down pat.

If Smith didnt get in his feelings and commit career suicide he would be in line for PT. He was making plays early in camp but for some reason they had him behind everybody.. Hurt everybody with that move, Hopefully Bolden is that dude..

The legends of green tree would not allow this to take place. There would have been beat downs in the locker room. These guys expect other teams to fear the U on their helmets, then they all get punked/exposes on the field...
disappointing to say the least..

I know you liked Hall a lot coming in. So did I - thought he was one of the hardest hitters I remembered seeing at the HS level. Seemed fearless.

He is playing slow and timid. Always a step behind. Never looking to get involved in group tackles.

I saw him get aggressive on a few safety blitzes, but he never got home.

Crossing my fingers that Bolden brings the skill set I think he will. If so, it’ll allow us to shuffle other guys around in the secondary and maybe find some combination that works.

This precisely what happens when you hire a bar tender to groom an elite DB prospect. Banda is trash.

Sick to my stomach. If anyone watched those last two games closely and thought we weren't capable of easily being 2-0, I don't know what to say. This is the first game since Golden's last season where I refuse to chart the defensive plays. Barely wanna talk about the plays that happened.

I only have one wish:

Please stop talking so much **** and exerting so much energy on hype and marketing before anything is proven. Program was in the gutter and needed a boost? I get it. You can still fall short of crossing the line into nonsense.

Just change the order of things now. There's still a chance to be a program of substance. We sure as **** have more talent than anyone else on our schedule. However, the superficial approach is NOT what JJ and the older teams did; I don't care how many times it's referenced and misunderstood. Those teams killed, and then danced.

You have a high standard? Great. Everyone is gonna be held to it? Awesome. Is there a need to talk about it and other details so much before it bears any fruit? Because when the details are missing from special teams, switching out one of the two vulnerable Tackles a game late, 2/5ths of the game to get going, or a 4th and 17 (the world's most predictable late DB boundary blitz), it looks ridiculous, ya'll.

Empty shell of a program until we understand that hype and bull**** come after the proof on the field. It's not a big ask. Most of us are still gonna be out there for every game, so we shall see.
But But But Manolo is so hip and savvy on social media. Prediction - his hashtags will double the number of victories in his tenure. #scarfacewannabe

I care less about the talk and hype and more about being typical Miami and giving up a 4th and 17. Get some professional high end assistants in here on defense and stop this buddy buddy ****.

Shanny has basically hired a bunch of his sons Jon Richt style on D.

Compare our prep on D to the unique **** Venables and crew busted out for Tex AM. He was dropping 8 regularly and randomly sending 6 with perfectly timed and executed blitzes. He completely mind fcked Jizzbo and crew all day.

I want to see the ‘Miami Standard’ self-applied by Manny Diaz.

Over the course of the remaining season Manny needs to show he can change when something isn’t working. At the end of the season, he needs critique his staff. Anyone not coaching and recruiting to the ‘Miami Standard’ needs to seek other employment.

Cancel the TO Chain and TD Brass Knuckles (or whatever the f they are).

It's prep. Bottom line. And, that's what this post is about. I find it incredibly odd that a coaching staff so prepared and detailed in their communications brought a slow-starting team to UNC with two weeks off before the game. That **** just doesn't align.
Maybe that's just it. All of that was for show. Think about it. Spring game at camping world to get the players familiar with their surroundings and routine. What did that actually do in all honesty. The stage still looked too big for the team with all the missed tackles and overall lack of discipline. The staff wants you to think they're prepared and meticulous.
In reality, they're in over their heads. All gimmicks, no substance. True to form from the TO chain creator.

Not only that he hired Enos because he gave him fits as a DC not because he was necessarily the most innovative and capable OC out there.

His entire defensive staff are his yes men and went and allowed his OC to hire a subpar staff. He needs to step out of his comfort zone and not base his offensive and defensive schemes solely through his football lens.

This is something Dabo did well when he went and got Chad Morris to bring juice to his offense and then Veneables to fix his defense. Manny has to be willing to allow different views on his staff to challenge him to not stay in that narrow mindset.

You're generalizing, though.

Priceless. Absolutely priceless. Unintentionally priceless

You attempted to criticize him but have no clue that you praised him profusely.

Generalizing is what works. Generalizing is the truth and the light year after year. The foolish method is to nitpick one player after another and one scheme after another and one replay after another. That lends to nothing but excuses and rationalizations and adjustments...a complete brutalization of the big picture.

Power ratings are the greatest generalization of all time. Newflash: when they report season after season that the Canes are a few points superior to their divisional opponents -- and therefore own virtually no margin for error whatsoever -- that is the reality of the matter. That is how it plays out. The tunnel vision analysts who rely on obsessive details and specifics spit out the preposterous summaries that we are miles superior to our opponents. That's what makes the offseason around here such a comedy act...year after year.

The people who focus on specifics view an NFL player vs. a Non-NFL Player as 1 vs. 0. There are lists of that type desperately propped here multiple times per year. The people who sharply rely on generalizations realize that is hilarious ignorance. The fringe NFL players are barely above the ones who don't make it. That is demonstrated by all the cuts made in the final week of preseason. Vincent Taylor is touted by Dolphins fans as a budding star. Then he's cut and remains unclaimed for days, before bumped to the Buffalo practice squad. Rinse and repeat that dynamic all over the league.

As I mentioned a week or two ago, it is easily understood if you look at numerical player power ratings such as the ones from Ourlads. An NFL player might own a 3.83 rating on their system while a guy who doesn't survive the final cut is 3.59. And that relationship is almost identical to the power ratings gap team to team. Small edges of that type throughout the roster are hardly equivalent to trump card dominance. One special skill position player can overcome slight deficits at several other positions.

It is not 1 vs. 0. It is the logical distribution of those 3.83 types in a league with randomly 32 teams and randomly 53 man rosters. If you dropped to 26 teams and 40 players -- like my youth -- then there would be no room for the 3.83 types. And so forth.

I don't know why I bother with this stuff. If and when we attain elite talent again it won't matter what the coach or athletic department is hyping in the offseason. Those old Canes who danced second would have howled at any concern regarding the public relations department. When we have elite talent again there will be no need to insult people with glowing reviews of Jon Ford.

Well said sir...I feel the same way.

All that social media jazz is so weak. We look those dudes that talk **** and can't back it up. I hate Banda and Baez's guts, for instance.

And I'm not even down on the team...I'm not calling for anyone's head. We lost two heartbreakers...I'm worried about the defense, the offense is gonna have to carry us for the first time in a couple years. But ya...I'm supporting Diaz totally, and optimistic ins one ways. I just want us to stop playing ourselves with the corny slogans, the Cam Underwoods, the etc, etc.

You never stop marketing, marketing (trivialized as talking) is not sharing your opinions; it’s literally programming people how to think. Why do you think companies like McDonald’s are so successful? Even if you have an inferior product, you can compensate and multiply sales with effective marketing.

You market your strengths and you market your weaknesses even harder as strengths, this is consulting 101. The real problem is managing expectations. The overriding issue Manny has is trying to deprogram and reprogram a bytch that is used to being in an abusive relationship. We have fans blaming Manny for everything that has happened in the past. So much “you’re just like him.”

You’ve got a good man that can lead you to success but you can’t accept it because you are so scarred and so scared and so familiar with hurt and pain that you have become attached and addicted to it; it’s part of who you are. Until you embrace a new reality, you will never appreciate what you have right now. Physician, heal thyself.

100% agree. Put the jewelry away until you’ve clinched the Coastal (if that’s even possible).

Another thing that makes me sick is players posting their highlights within 10 minutes of a loss.
I hear you. But me, I can't stop watching the Canes play. Afterwards I say to myself, Why do I do this to myself?

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 5 times, shame on me.

Besides being the Wake Forest of Coral Gables (minus the academic reputation), we're also Temple's piggy bank. Need to pay a history professor for the next 30 years? Dump another crap football coach on Miami.

Imagine Wake Forest with turnover chains and TD knuckles and extra point copper ******. Ridiculous right? That's us. The program would be a national laughingstock if it wasn't already completely irrelevant.

Diaz is the embodiment of Miami football: no wins, all swag.

Marketing firm trying to win games but spoiler they can’t coach worth a ****. If my coaches aren’t fixing things pregame and planninng for that easy *** offense then that alone is worthy of getting canned

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. #TNM is just a slogan like UTough. I will not get hyped until we win.
