Blades giving Franks the double middle finger was a very symbolic moment of how *** backwards we have this thing
Well said Lu. I’ve been watching my Canes faithfully since I was a just a kid in 80s. And after the worst 15 years of cane football that I’ve ever seen, bear in mind I was born in 1980 so I don’t know any of the truly dark times before that but with that said I can’t do it anymore. Watching the games on TV and In person has become a truly horrible experience and ruins my Saturday and Sunday. What we as fans have put up with over the last 15 years would bring any fan to there knees and I’m over it. It’s just wash and repeat at this point as Diaz is no different then golden or Richt as we all know where the dead weight is on this staff and we all know that Diaz isn’t firing his entourage of flunkies. So what’s the point anymore, just like Richt wouldn’t fire his son and hire an OC and golden wouldn’t fire NoD and hire a real DC. So from this point on I will only watch or go to games if it’s a ACC title game, NY6 bowl or playoffs. That will show me that UM values it’s fans and winning and deserves our eyes, money and heart and soul we fans put into this **** product. But until then I’m done. I’ll still check the scores online and read the blogs but I’m taking the emotional attachment out because it’s Become like being in a bad relationship when eventually someone has to let go to keep their sanity.Sick to my stomach. If anyone watched those last two games closely and thought we weren't capable of easily being 2-0, I don't know what to say. This is the first game since Golden's last season where I refuse to chart the defensive plays. Barely wanna talk about the plays that happened.
I only have one wish:
Please stop talking so much **** and exerting so much energy on hype and marketing before anything is proven. Program was in the gutter and needed a boost? I get it. You can still fall short of crossing the line into nonsense.
Just change the order of things now. There's still a chance to be a program of substance. We sure as **** have more talent than anyone else on our schedule. However, the superficial approach is NOT what JJ and the older teams did; I don't care how many times it's referenced and misunderstood. Those teams killed, and then danced.
You have a high standard? Great. Everyone is gonna be held to it? Awesome. Is there a need to talk about it and other details so much before it bears any fruit? Because when the details are missing from special teams, switching out one of the two vulnerable Tackles a game late, 2/5ths of the game to get going, or a 4th and 17 (the world's most predictable late DB boundary blitz), it looks ridiculous, ya'll.
Empty shell of a program until we understand that hype and bull**** come after the proof on the field. It's not a big ask. Most of us are still gonna be out there for every game, so we shall see.
The difference between 2-0 and 0-2 is a combined 7 points..if you were expecting a Natty year 1, I’m sorry..as a fan of CFB I’m tired of this narrative in our fan base “we should expect to win against X,Y, and Z”..it’s a sense of entitlement that always leads to the Sunday meltdowns of CIS. I’m convinced many In our fanbase do not follow CFB..we do not “out talent” ppl on our schedule..maybe in the skill department, but definitely not across the board. This team Will get better. This team will learn how to finish games. This is not “be patient” post. But fellas, just sit back and let **** happen..once again if you were EXPECTING to run the table to ACC championship game you were naive. But I’ll say this, we are closer to a 10/9 win team(which I expected) then the gloom and doom 6,7,or 8 win team some of y’all now expect..it’s not on coaching tho. It’s about how fast this team will grow up. This team needs another crop of leaders to start showing potential. Carter, Hall, Ford, Garvin mainly had huge voids to fill this year. It’s time for them to step up. What I see is not a coaching lapse. But players who just haven’t found their way yet. 7 points separate a top 20 team and a 0-2 team. If I’m manny that’s my message to this squad. Take accountability of it..now what are you gonna do to turn it around starting sat. Its not about the opponent. It’s about the University of Miami
I know you liked Hall a lot coming in. So did I - thought he was one of the hardest hitters I remembered seeing at the HS level. Seemed fearless.Last year, I was told Frierson doesn't like the physical aspect as much as they wanted him to, but who knows if that's true.
I know our Safeties struggled in this game worse than UF and looked almost hesitant.

This is my point..we haven’t been that program since 01/02..this whole we out talent narrative needs to stop..stop setting y’all selves up for that..when manny talks about the “Miami standard” it’s a about a culture. Putting in work and showing up on sat..the standards in that building should be championship or bust..but If you as fan see a THIS iteration of Miami and thought oh we was just gonna run the table..your setting yourself up..but these gloom and doom post are premature..if we had gotten the doors blown off in both games I could understand..So the coach gets hired and goes on and on about the Miami standard and you want the fans to expect losses to inferior programs when said coach starts 0-2. That's laughable. Miami should never change expectations. We should expect to beat a UNC team that went 2-10 the year before. A team we beat by 30+ with a worse offense just one year ago.
It's prep. Bottom line. And, that's what this post is about. I find it incredibly odd that a coaching staff so prepared and detailed in their communications brought a slow-starting team to UNC with two weeks off before the game. That **** just doesn't align.Lu, why cant this team get off to a fast start. I mean, offense come out put up a couple td's and defense get a couple three and outs. Create a cushion for the offense to be balanced and opposing offense into predictable passing downs for the defense to t off. I do not think the team is good enough to win tight games or come from behind.
He played slower this game than the last, where it was more of a mixed bag. He's visibly pausing to not misstep. He's way better than he showed and I'm sticking with him. Still early for him in this defense. I was worried about a DT disruptor stepping up and our Safeties early in the season. Said that all offseason and got told we'd have a dominant D. It's not easy playing Safety in this defense. But, Hall has the tools to do it. We'll see.I know you liked Hall a lot coming in. So did I - thought he was one of the hardest hitters I remembered seeing at the HS level. Seemed fearless.
He is playing slow and timid. Always a step behind. Never looking to get involved in group tackles.
I saw him get aggressive on a few safety blitzes, but he never got home.
Crossing my fingers that Bolden brings the skill set I think he will. If so, it’ll allow us to shuffle other guys around in the secondary and maybe find some combination that works.
Like I said, there's a fine line. He's gotta bring those details to the field, as you said. ****, just bring the details to the Special Teams unit. We'll get some juice from that.Eh... unfortunately its part of his job. To boost $'s and boost image to prospective recruits. He knows how to play that game, when he puts it together on the field it will be a deadly combination.
Wasn’t OP hyping us up in the off season too? Funny it’s ok if he does it but gets mad at manny for doing it.
You’re mad a young team let a couple slip away and your answer is to complain about the marketing? What else r they suppose to do? Answer that one.

Don't totally agree but kudos. It'll stop when it's not true. If you don't like facts (like players who make it to the NFL), compare rosters. I understand your tendency to try to be a contrarian. By all means. It makes for good discussions sometimes. This is my point..we haven’t been that program since 01/02..this whole we out talent narrative needs to stop..stop setting y’all selves up for that..when manny talks about the “Miami standard” it’s a about a culture.
