x and o's guys with a psyco recruiter. they'd balance out well.
the only condition would be that egos need to be put aside lol. I could totally see a scenario where Mario and him have some disagreements on gameday coaching. Fitz is a savvy high football iq coach. If Mario does enough stupid **** I could see Fitz saying to **** with it haha

I never thought I'd hate something as simple as a stunt. Between that and DTs covering receivers I never thought I'd question if D'Onofrio would have company.

Definitely didn't think his company would be Guidry.
I used to like stunts. It's amazing how you can be soured on something after being force fed day after day.

Too often and poorly executed. Similar to Manny's delayed blitzes.

Felt like they did them just to say they did them. Just like Manny running a S on a blitz from 15 yards from the LOS.

I will just say, I’ve been told by a few folks that Jason Taylor is one of the laziest coaches on the staff, and it showed by the DL’s performance. If he is hired as DC we are Fing cooked
This is true of most exceptional athletes, regardless of sports. FFS, Ted Williams is a top ten baseball player of all time and couldn't manage for a lick. He just couldn't understand why his players couldn't see or do what he could. The list is long, in all sports, Gretzky, Lampard, Xavi, Ewing, et al. Frank Robinson is the exception that proves the rule.

I don't care if we hire the school janitor. Just make sure he teaches ALL the mlb's to stand pat and react to the qb, don't just shoot gaps and the the qb runs the opposite way for 20 yards. Line up 5-7 yards behind the DT and move when the qb moves as soon as he tucks and runs plow his ***.

I guess if you look at this decision in a vacuum, enjoy the news. Take a look at the bigger picture and see that the defense was our strength last year. Guidry is fired after one bad season and Mario has already had 3 failed coordinator hires. How many bad decisions and seasons does Mario get?
Idk only the ppl who hired him know the answer to that question but I for one am ecstatic we don’t have to watch a Guidry coached defense next year. Happy new year & go canes 🙌🏾

I thought it was closer to two than it was 1.

I know blaker baker ar lsu is making 2.5. Pretty sure guidry got a raise?

Ok then it needs to be 2 million. I know at one point Miami wasn’t even paying 1 million for their coordinators a few years back I believe

One thing not talked about....it was clear this change was needed halfway thru the season....waiting to the end of the year to make this change cost the team the playoffs and a bowl win.....let someone else on the staff call D plays and if you don't have anyone on staff to call D plays as a backup, that is a huge miss...

Also, not making this change probably cost us Pickett and other recruits..

As a Chicagoan, I'd be so interested by this hire. You're right, Fitz was highly regarded around here for the results he was able to get with Northwestern's talent pool. Would be very interested in seeing how it'd shake out with more talented but less cerebral players.
“Less cerebral”? These guys play football. They aren’t trying to get into the Chicago School of Economics and destroy the world. FOH.

I see what you are saying but it feels like people are overlooking the fact that he has never been a DC before. How does anyone know if he even knows how to do it?
