As a Chicagoan, I'd be so interested by this hire. You're right, Fitz was highly regarded around here for the results he was able to get with Northwestern's talent pool. Would be very interested in seeing how it'd shake out with more talented but less cerebral players.

This was the biggest head scratcher to me.
We weren’t asking average or below average athletes to play out of position against elite competition.
We were asking top level recruits with athleticism to hold Syracuse and Iowa state. Not Texas, not Ohio state, not Uga.

Everyone else with injuries seems to find a way to not do what we did with less talented rosters.
This seemed way more than just X’s and O’s to me.

You can see it clear as day in the Bahamas, we tried lining up playing man and they couldn’t do it, you have to adjust and run some type of zone as your base

if he doesnt fix this program it's a wrap. he's probably our last hope. this is coming from someone who wasnt on board with his hire.

i dunno, man. do we really want a first-time playcaller at DC? head coaching and coordinating a defense are two different jobs. if he'd done it before i'd feel a little better about it. that plus the baggage with the hazing scandal at northwestern....imo there's better candidates out there.
