Mario not defending Cam

Mario isnt smart either but of course. Mario doesn't care if cam tears up his knee in the second half. George left half way. Martinez sat out the fourth. they were saying their goodbyes in the third quarter

y'all forget Lamar miller housed a run against BC and chilled after that bc he was declaring. this has gone on forever. these bowls dont matter. you old people need to get over it.

if it isnt a playoff game, its a glorified preseason game.
I resemble that remark!

Guys - everything starts and ends with the head coach.

Mario allowed it to happen one way or another.

Maybe that was the way it once was but that is what I am trying to convince everyone of--those times have changed. Money is power and it has emboldened young men to have the stones to walk into their coaches' office and tell them "I can only give you half". What is Cristobal going to do, tell his Heisman Candidate QB who carried his team all season, "no, 4-quarters or 0-quarters"? CMC was given a compromise/ultimatum--probably and had to put his team in the best position to succeed and so two quarters Cam it was. It may have started with coach but it ended with the QB making the call--or vice-a-versa.

theyre being paid for their marketability not by the school to play football.

Yea Right GIF

31 first half points should be enough to salt away the game w how we were running the ball. the defense is putrid

I mean we had some bad defenses in the past, especially when the loss of 41 scholarships kicked in during late 1990s, but we were playing undersized, slow and under talented players and there was nothing Butch could do about it in 1997 and 1998. There is no excuse for this nonsense. But I have to ask again how Guidry got it so wrong after having really good defenses in his previous gig.
Your description of putrid is accurate.

Mario coulda been like yep it was part of the plan next question
I don't know why being all secretive about this decision was so important anyway. Clear the air, both of you. Say you agreed to each others terms and it was a mutual decision. Why blow up the bathroom and leave the stink in the air. Turn on the ******* fan.

For me and others, I think this is it. Even if Cam made this decision, after the season he gave and the understanding that he could have not played any of the game, as a HC, I've got his back, but more importantly the secrecy in his response was so dumb and just muddied the picture for all involved.

on social media every other fan base is having more of a meltdown than we are lol. I’m glad at least the qb situation was exposed as the worst in the country going into next year.

Most people agree, either this was:
Scenario 1: Mario preplanned that it would be Ward for 1st half, Williams for 2nd half; or Mario preplanned that Ward would attain record and exit the game and Williams would take over; or Mario and Cam both came to an agreement for this arrangement.

Scenario 2: Mario called an audible and yanked Ward out of the game and played for 2025.

Scenario 3: Ward called an audible and took himself out of the game to secure a high draft pick.

Mario's post-game comments: "I think all meetings with players and decisions like that, we make them in private, and we keep them in private," Cristobal said. "So I'll prefer not to answer questions as it relates to that. I know he played his best while he was in there."

Why did he use the pronouns "We" instead of "I"? He would likely use "I" if it was solely his decision to make; but I am reading this as it was Cam who made the call. He probably didn't really want to play this game (don't blame him--Ahem, Guidry's stank *** defense!) and made a compromise with staff that he would play the first half and leave it up to everyone else to decide the outcome of the game. In reality, he did us a solid by exposing the awful QB room we have.

So this gets back to Cam, who in a technical sense a pro money-making athlete, making a decision. Assume for a moment that he (Ward) made the call to exit the game. At what point to we stop hanging the yoke around Coaches neck and make him carry the load of these athletes and their decisions? These are tough discussions and a generational change in the mindset and the way we view student-athletes. NIL has wrought havoc for many different reasons and this pleasant discussion is a byproduct of this era. We probably need to have an honest spectators' discussion on what constitutes an unpaid athlete on scholarship and a paid athlete making NFL salaries. I feel less sorry for college athletes today who get criticized. I have completely stopped using the moniker "kid" when addressing them. I just think that once you go from unpaid to paid, there is a certain weight you now have to carry with you and the protections and the benefit of doubt you get that former players have enjoyed is now lost.
Ferman said today he was told the arrangement was for Cam to play only the first quarter. Cam played the first half. He gave them a lead, which had the defense even been average, would have been much bigger.

Mario looks like a goof not speaking up for his QB. Cam obviously got paid, but more than fulfilled his end of the deal this season and saved Mario’s ***. If the plan was understood before the game, Mario should have explained it post-game and also added wanted to evaluate Emory and young guys. Just a bad look.

Is it known whether the arrangement was of Cam's making or made by CMC?

Also, we used to bowl game to see if we have our 2025 qb on the roster or not....and the bowl game showed we don't. Probably need to use the portal for that but the staff may feel otherwise.
We could have saved them the time and bowl game….it should not have taken a half v ISU to figure it out

I havent seen one post since saying "wE HaVe tO dEvElOp oUr oWn GuYs!" :jordan:
There ain't any more juice to squeeze out of Williams. His ceiling is like .41 PCP and 6 yards rushing a game. You got to give Frank Ponce something to work with. He ain't a miracle worker.

I’m glad it went down this way. Now we finally saw how bad Emory is and those people glazing him could finally shut up and realize it’s Nickel or portal time at qb.

Actually never saw anyone here glaze Emory. Praise for the effort in the broken arm game but never thinking he was Neo.

Satisfying Krispy Kreme GIF
