Manny Navarro's interview with TVD

Peopling attach his leadership skills are doing so based on how they would precieve themselves trying to lead. There are different ways. Folks think he put his head down and did not fight to win. Well just go back to 2021 games were things started poorly. VA brought them back and should have won, NC brought them back and scored 42, FSU brought them back and should have won. Did any of you see him ra ra ra on the sidelines. No. That is not who is and he does not have to have your traits be a leader.
I've already said there are many different ways to lead. No matter how you look at it, not having your WRs phone numbers, and trying to leave the program in like April or whenever it was, is not one of them. Period.

50% of the starting P5 QBs in 2022 were transfers my friend. TVD is entering his 4th season as a CANE! You have zero basis to criticize him because others were trying to poach him. By the way Young made nearly 3m last year while at Bama. no way in **** TVD got that to stay.
Uh Comparing what TVD makes to the QB that was drafted #1 and won a heisman is ******* dumb.

Why do I give a **** how many of the starting P5 Qbs were transfers? How many of them were transfers after starting at another major P5 program lol.

I’d much rather look at film.
I agree film tells the whole story. Highlight reels are the best of the best but still prove that TVD whether by play design or instinct almost always throws to his first read. He doesn’t pivot his head to even throw off a safety in those highlights.

imo TVD got lucky he didn't throw a lot more interceptions last year. His stock is way down and I really hope he learned something from last year. You don't win football games by playing golf. He needs to step up bigtime and he better know his guys ******* phone numbers by now.

broken record....Dude wake up. You really believe that non sense. Players are in the facility 5-6 days a week for 45-49 weeks a year. Only WRs not involved are the one's that don't want to be and they gone.

Dude, if you are a student at UM, oh my, they need to improve academics as well. Point being TVD did NOT STAY AT MIAMI FOR MONEY & go to class. Some of the top of my head.

Caleb Williams
Hendon Hooker
Devon Leary
Sam Harman
Jayden Daniels
Bo Nix
Michael Penix
Brandon Armstrong
Spencer Rattler
Joe Milton

4:57 mark 2021 highlights my friend. just one example

The only issue there is Dawson was already hired and TVD got a chance to work with him throughout spring practice when the Alabama flirtation happened. He already knew what he had.

I think he is going to have a great year, glad he stayed and have no problem with trying to negotiate the best NIL deal possible. That Gattis experiment was ugly all around, I would understand if he had negotiations or even left in the first transfer window. The timing did suck though. That was late in the game, at a certain point you need to be all in and help build you team. With the way and timing of how it went down, how could you not expect to receive some backlash?
You don't think Dawson is a reason TVD is still at Miami? I do.

We need TVD to be good this year. More than anybody else.

But he's not a good team leader and unfortunately there are some players on the team who lost respect for him after his flirting with Bama.

I'm glad he's back and hope for big things from him, but he hurt the team overall. I know the info wasn't supposed to get out but if he wanted to leverage Bama for more money he should have just negotiated more money without a threat to leave or he shouldn't have let it go public. That risk is always there and as the leader of the team, you can't afford to take that risk of losing trust. Look at what Drake Maye did at UNC. I'm sure he got more money somehow.. TVD should have found another way to get more money than to allow his leverage of a possible transfer to go public.
you mean the Drake Maye who was also courted by Bama and also decided to stay at UNC???

You talk like TVD SOUGHT out Sabin. smh

If he were my kid, I would have encouraged him to think hard about what was best for his future at that point in January. Any of you would have if you are honest.

They tell on themselves all the time. “One read” “locked onto guys” All guys without access to film. But when people who had the film dispel the myth they keep going. The man was out there short circuiting cause everything around him was failing. NOW is he off the hook? Nah.. yes he did flirt with other teams and up his price as if he was some sort of transformative Caleb Williams type guy and he done nothing to earn the bag he got.. but that’s just smart business
It's the same handful of people....

In January, yes... When we knew Gattis was on his way out and had no idea who was coming in. He should have left then if he wanted to. And I don't think anybody would have blamed him.

But he flirted in late April. After spring ball.

Edit: fyi Drake Maye shut down the rumors in December... The same day his OC that he liked was announced he was going to Wisconsin.

Where did you come up with this gem "He blamed the the negative attitude of other players once they got down by even 7 as defeated". Man, the crap people make on this site to support their OPINION.
It’s in his interview. That players (didn’t include himself) had quick negative attitudes and we seem defeated even only down 7. He blames the attitude of certain players on the team but takes no ownership as the leader of the team for at least attempting to change that attitude/culture even if failing. It’s as if he was just another player on the team with no voice. Does that not make sense?
