Manny Navarro's interview with TVD

Where did you come up with this gem "He blamed the the negative attitude of other players once they got down by even 7 as defeated". Man, the crap people make on this site to support their OPINION.
It’s in his interview. That players (didn’t include himself) had quick negative attitudes and we seem defeated even only down 7. He blames the attitude of certain players on the team but takes no ownership as the leader of the team for at least attempting to change that attitude/culture

It’s as if he was just another player on the team with no voice. Does that not make sense?
i want to be wrong aboutTVD more than anyone. Like everyone has said we need him to succeed to have an above average year. But at least half the people on the board see major issues with his game. Hopefully 2022 was all Gattis, a poor supporting cast, injuries, and anything else listed. And if I’m wrong I will eat crow J and buy you a 12 pack of your choice.

In January, yes... When we knew Gattis was on his way out and had no idea who was coming in. He should have left then if he wanted to. And I don't think anybody would have blamed him.

But he flirted in late April. After spring ball.

Edit: fyi Drake Maye shut down the rumors in December... The same day his OC that he liked was announced he was going to Wisconsin.
You are likely missing so many details. You really think the media knows everything.

Dude, go interview his teamates and the coaches. Your perception is not just reality.

Yeah well
He looked pretty good in the spring game with a new offense.

I'm riding with that, he has shown the ability to throw dimes down the field in actual football games.

Regardless if he listened to suitors during off-season, regardless if he has lacked leadership in the past, regardless if his golf handicap went down but his turnovers went up last year, he is our best option this season to win as many games.

Yeah I was lucky to be late and miss the first quarter where he supposedly played flat. By the time I was watching TVD looked really good for a Soring game. Had some money throws and even showed some ability to scramble. So I’m riding with that too lol. Kid has maturity problems and lacks leadership. I still think TVD is going to okay and maybe even lights out.

This whole situation is 100% the fault of Mario for hiring Gattass, hiring Ponce who didn’t work well with Gattass, taking forever to find Dawson, and not adding better talent to the QB room to push TVD more. And anyone who has read my posts knows that I’m a huge fan of Mario. He just screwed the pooch with QBs so far.

They tell on themselves all the time. “One read” “locked onto guys” All guys without access to film. But when people who had the film dispel the myth they keep going. The man was out there short circuiting cause everything around him was failing. NOW is he off the hook? Nah.. yes he did flirt with other teams and up his price as if he was some sort of transformative Caleb Williams type guy and he done nothing to earn the bag he got.. but that’s just smart business
I watch the nfl religiously and see alot of “one read” qbs starting lol.

These people could have the film, because it was posted in the op but they dont know wth they watching. All year i saw people screenshot plays from tv broadcast to say someone is open without even knowing whats the reads pre snap or what progressions the qb is taught to go thru but fans are fans lol win and nobody cares about everything else until u slip up

Did you read the last sentence in my statement? Would you treat a family business differently? Sure a business is a business. There are different levels of loyalty you'll view them in though.
You think because im earning my degree somewhere it becomes family business lol? There is no family in college football man yall throw that word around too lightly

Listen, I get it. 2022 went poorly. But you have to consider the entire program and not one player. TVD had his shoulder separated at the midpoint of the season after playing well in the prior 2.25 games. Many folks on here are 100% correct when they talk about Gattis, the OL and the injuries.

Going into 2022 I was praying things would work out with Gattis. All I had was hope. The WR room had significant questions marks with Smith, George (suspended) X (dealing with injury) Brinson (shoulder), Ladson, and smith. Colby just got to campus from juco and then we lost Citizen, Zion, Chaney in preseason. The offense was a wreck from the start without even considering Gattis' tight sets, easy to steal signs, no audibles and no ability to call projections. All QBs were a sitting ducks as well as the RBs.

This year is different. OL now has 5 real starters of which 3 have played at a significant level with depth to sustain some injuries, WR room now has a legit Colby Young, a hungry George, a beast in X, lightening speed/experience in Harrell, A healthy Horton and Reading and depth in the slot with Smith and fast freshman. Our RB room is night and day deeper with Allen, Parrish, Chaney, Fletcher and Johnson. We also have speed and size in the room now.

Dawson is going to throw the ball to WRs, TEs and RBs. If TVD can do what he has done during his carrier in the ACC. He will break the single season yardage record.

If you want to be a glass is half empty guy, I get it. But don't let yourselves not enjoy the ride if you are wrong.

Who are you to question the boss running the company out of business? Mope.

I completely understand your analogy, and would have driven TVD to Bama myself.

1. Because he should have gone there and
2. Because we should have moved on from him

But I would have driven him in December, not May. This scenario assumes I would have hired an OC in December too…

Except Saban didn’t realize he was dealing with his own **** show at QB until late Spring, which is when they tampered. The guy has landed a lot of QBs in the league and wins championships. It’s reallllly hard to be mad at TVD for listening if you ask me.

I’m actually more concerned about his wallowing and his excuses and his lack of resilience on the field. And despite all that I am ecstatic he’s our guy. Because there are so few good QBs out there and Mario let the room go to ****.

Dude, if you are a student at UM, oh my, they need to improve academics as well. Point being TVD did NOT STAY AT MIAMI FOR MONEY & go to class. Some of the top of my head.

Caleb Williams
Hendon Hooker
Devon Leary
Sam Harman
Jayden Daniels
Bo Nix
Michael Penix
Brandon Armstrong
Spencer Rattler
Joe Milton
Jaxon Dart
Jayden De Laura
Jake Garcia lol
Him doing that is clearly not good FOR US. In fact I'd say him doing what he did - waiting until April (after we hired our OC who you are saying is one of the reasons he stayed) while the rest of the QBs transfer in January, with seemingly the main purpose to get more money, is worse than a QB who transfers to get to that better program/situation and take that next step. Like If TVD transfered to Bama, I really wouldn't blame him. It'd almost certainly have been a good move for him personally. The problem is he didn't, and he is supposed to be a leader of this team. The problem isn't transfering. The problem FOR US is him wanting to transfer when he is our starting QB. This really isn't complicated.

I think it's absolutely more personal than just a random job you feel zero loyalty to, and would leave asap.

There are plenty of people that would describe being a member of this program as being a family. **** lots of people view their Football coach - whether HS/College as like a second father basically...

Yea its easy to say its a family when everything is going well for you, when its time to think about whats best for u my only family are my actual family lmao not a school/business whose job is secured no matter how I perform.

Regardless how much more loyalty you may or may not feel, I think it is just true that you'd want the starting QB to view it as such, and to not treat it like a guy just constantly on the hunt for better/different opportunities.

I mean why are you a Miami fan? You can just do what is best for you and be a fan of Alabama. It would make being a fan so much easier over the past 2 decades. Yet for some reason you're showing loyalty to Miami even when we suck...

I’ll drink the kool-aid! It’s more fun that way anyways. I will still follow up on my beer bet.

The “one read” crowd usually doesn’t know much about offenses. They completely disregard anything pre snap and think that every pass play has enough time for a quarterback to go through 4 or 5 step progressions. Modern offenses want the ball out of the QB’s hands fast. That means you’re deciding where the ball is going often times before the snap. Or if you are making a post snap read it’s one or two options. It’s not Techmo Bowl where the quarterback is cycling through 5 different choices after snapping the ball.

You’re adding context to what he said. He was just describing the mindset of the entire team without revealing a lot of the dirty details.

If the entire team has an attitude, it’s difficult at best for one person - in this case a 20 year old - to intervene and make a difference. I’m not defending TVD by any stretch, but there was obviously a lot of **** going on out of his control.

2 things were obvious - the laissez faire culture from past regimes that has permeated this team for years and Gatass. Now on his 3rd OC in 3 years, it’s TVD’s time to **** or get off the pot.

That’s fine.

Go on sucking him off then.
No one ever said you we're the smartest cookie in the bunch.

TVD going to shut that bald head of yours up after this season.
