Malachi Nelson

I'm might get dragged for this but true freshman shouldn't be allowed in the portal unless their coach is leaving. You go through all of the trouble of recruiting them. Only for them to dip when they haven't been in the program 12 months.

With said said. I'll be glad if we kicked the tires on this one to sit behind whoever we get as OB1.
Since the NCAA can't limit NIL, the only thing they can do is change transfer rules. Limiting freshmen transfers might not be that farfetched. Assuming they actually want to do something.

No but I’m very tempted to offer KJ Jefferson and Malachi Nelson and let them battle. I’m very nervous but our 2 - 3 year outlook @ QB just as much as next year.
Idk if Nelson wants to compete… them bringing in Howard and him immediately leaving tells me he isn’t interested in sitting another year sadly

So a player should have to stay somewhere he doesn't wanna be just because he's a Freshman?

Should Coaches not be allowed to change jobs after 1 year?

Just to clarify, you all aren't suggesting we get Malachi as QB1 for next season are you?
I would say no. Sounds good but you have to believe if Riley thought he was ready - he wouldn’t be going after a 1yr grad transfer in Will Howard.

That’s not to say no interest. Just not likely it’s a fit due to him leaving seemingly as soon as reports leak that Howard has committed to USC

SMH he a 5 star Qb he already sat for yr. Why would he not start at Miami? We not a CFP team get that out yall head. 24' is 9-10 wins maybe 1st round cfp if lucky building for 25' CFP. But to pass on Dante or Malachi bc you want a 1 yr rental is crazy. We want guys with experience but a 5 star with experience will never transfer and you get experience by playing

Didn't Nelson get like $2M/yr to sign with USC. Him leaving has to mean he's trying to play next year. If he was happy to sit a year, I'd take him for sure.

So Lincoln Riley, the QB guru, pushed a multi-year starter in Malachi Nelson away for a 1 year starter in Howard. But you think that Malachi is better?

Jameson Williams was buried on the depth chart at Ohio State, goes to Bama, and becomes a first-round pick.

Still prefer Ward, but if we're choosing among Plan C guys - you could a lot worse than Nelson.

What's odd about that? Studios are always looking for ways to relate to their core demographic & appeal to the youth (aka stay relevant) SC when they are clicking much like us are a national brand. What better way to relates to the nations youth then by having athletes from national teams promoting your brand. The tricky part is it can easily be tied into roles (extras whatever) & what kid would that not appeal to...
Dwayne Johnson and Peter Berg were doing Ballers a few years back. Johnson really loves his Hurricanes and Miami. He is also an executive producer and who is bigger on football films than those two? I always thought he would get a little more involved with the football team than he has, unless the administration turned him off. I worked with him back when UM won their last title and then when Randy took over and he talked non stop about the team. Not to many UM fans out here so we talked UM football quite a bit.

I see what you are are saying but I have to respectfully disagree.
