As an aside, this is why I couldn't give a fvck about these out of state "stud" running backs.

While we're out chasing tail for these "studs"...we completely ignore the numerous Matt Dayes, Brandon Oliver types South Florida produces every year that would already be on campus and shut down their recruiting...no, they aren't ****...but they end up being four year productive D1 and P5 players and sometimes pros. Miami needs more of those and stop wasting time and resources of these worthless, fruitless endeavors.

Problem is you don't win championships with skill position slugs. You need blue chip game changers. Otherwise you'll continue chugging along at 9-4.

As long as Maryland didn't secure a pinky promise I think we are still ok. We still have the crystal balls.....Hopefully Thomas Brown can seal the deal.Maybe a bring one of those cakes on the visit.

Here is my take on this for AMAC's decision. I can't believe we haven't had a "soft shouldered" or "savage " comment in this thread but I am still holding out hope for it.

Edge

Coaching Miami (All Day Everyday)
Tradition Miami
Track to NFl Miami
Location Maryland
Facilites Maryland
Education Miami
Girls Miami (See Dolly Castro as example)
Potential to Win Miami

Not a hard decision fellas.

Can you give me some details on why you think Maryland ihas better facilities in Miami? Asking for a friend.

The reason is just from all the information over the years with recruits etc. Miami has lacked on the facilities for a while. I know they have a new players lounge and the IPF is coming but until then I still believe we are behind in that area. I don't have facts, it was just my opinion.

A list with the kids that have spurned Miami due to "facilities" would be great, thanks in advance.

On another note I can certainly understand why a kid would find it more important to have unlimited access to xbox as opposed to, you know...playing in the NFL.

The Schwartz Center completed in 2013 neutralized that argument. Stop perpetuating the myth.

Miami's facilities are on par w most P5 programs nowadays. We might not have diggs on par w Alabama, but facilities have not been a reason to stay away for several years now.

As much crap as people give the crystal balls, they're usually right when it's an overwhelming percentage in one school's favor. Until some of the national guys start flipping their picks maybe we shouldn't be too worried

Coach Brown needs to be on the phone to 2017 RB Cordarrian Richardson from Memphis, TN. He has a top 3 of Ole Miss , Oregon, and UCF. Miami needs to bring him for a OV, if nothing else to send a message to McFarland that if your looking so are we.

I think that would be a dumb way to handle this....too hostile. We have a good relationship, have to work on that, not set ultimatums for this kid. Maybe with some, but not here. Needs reassurance and support from Coach Brown. Play on the bond, the closeness, the trust. You threaten, you destroy that.

Agree with this... but the staff does need a plan B. If they don't already have.

It's going to be Maryland. Tough decision for the kid. Some kids troll and showboat but this kid is genuinely going through an agonizing decision making process. Best of luck to him wherever he goes but I think there's too much hometown pressure here.

I have no idea what's going to happen here and I hope he picks us, he's a big piece of this class for sure.

Having second thoughts is one thing.

He puts the school that based their recruiting strategy on his "solid" promise in a horrible position. This would be a real cūnt move. It's not like he would be staying home for a sick mother or some other altruistic reasons.

So, yeah, he has the right to change his mind, and make the weak and unmanly move of succumbing to local pressure from a shīt program, but as far as adopting the "good luck young man" attitude. Fūck that.

And they were right, he was going to choose us as of yesterday. Now let's see if they start updating their picks. Some may, doubt it was updated as of last night to the minute

No doubt Maryland is pulling out all of the stops to get McFarland.

That would include tremendous negative recruiting relative to crime, etc. in the Miami area.

There is just as much crime where McFarland lives

Ever see the Wire?

Right which is in Maryland.

Dude. C'mon. You're better than that. MDs campus is 40 minutes out of Baltimore. Similar to Miami's campus from other rough parts. My point was Maryland, like Miami, has its rough parts, as seen in the Wire, which was based on true events.
