Dude. C'mon. You're better than that. MDs campus is 40 minutes out of Baltimore. Similar to Miami's campus from other rough parts. My point was Maryland, like Miami, has its rough parts, as seen in the Wire, which was based on true events.

I was born in Baltimore. Maryland's campus is a suburb of Washington, D.C. It's not in the Baltimore area at all. And I don't know what kind of wizard you are, and how you make traffic disappear, but.....

If I remember correctly, isn't Georgetown and Maryland like 25 miles apart?

By far the most alarming/concerning part about this situation is the radio silence from Pete. If he's got nothing that means his sources within the program are iced out by the McFarlands or its not good news so they're not saying anything. No bueno IMO.

He said "Cane" multiple times & just said "they comin" yesterday.

This implies he knew the decision was going to be moved, etc etc. Whatever the assumptions and info was prior to last night changed when he announced he was moving his decision back post Maryland in-home. I'm not saying he's gone, but you also can't assume everything is status quo.

No one is saying everything is status quo. What we are saying is that at this moment Pete doesn't have anything new besides what we know: decision moved after MD visited. Pete is probably working the phone trying to get the news ASAP. It doesn't just come to him. The staff doesn't make decisions and tell someone to call Pete. Pete also doesn't care about being first. He cares about being right because when you're right you're almost always first. The minute he knows when Brown goes he will share. Then after that he will give us a breakdown.

Yes. But there's no Metro in Georgetown, and getting between the two by car would be a nightmare most times of the day.

Bc there aren't similarly bad areas in DC?

What does that have to do with anything? Of course there are.

lol. i went to MDs campus for that golden game years ago. CP is a rough area but its basically what 30-40 min outside of DC?

All of Maryland is basically a suburb of D.C.

Except most of the state which isn't

47% of the working population of Maryland commutes to D.C. for work according to the last Census. So my statement was inaccurate but it's still a huge number commuting.

I'm talking about looking at the state. It's not like DC has engulfed the entire state. That's like saying all of New York state is NYC.

Yeah, that would be like saying aren't parts of Long Island 25 miles from Manhattan? Yes. Good luck getting there by car in 25 minutes (and, yes, I know they have trains there).

The root of my participation in this discussion is to dismiss the dumb proposition made earlier in the thread (not by you) that MD's angle/advantage was negative recruiting Miami based on crime in the area

Agree with all of that, just saying that Pete has said Cane in the past doesn't really provide much assurance or carry as much weight at this point as things have changed quite a bit. It would be pretty easy for him to type "Cane" at any point now too, but we haven't heard anything. All I'm saying is that if this was merely a smoke show, Pete would of put it to bed already.

after a few pages every thread descends into a discussion about weather, traffic or crime. i'll bet these aren't even factors in his decision.

This is a real stupid debate, but I'm real bored. Baltimore and UMD have literally nothing in common besides being in the same state. In fact, there are very few places in Maryland that have much in common with Baltimore. Having said that, you have to assume that UMDs pitch has nothing to do with crime and everything to do with representing the home team, and possibly the ability to wear a new, goofy helmet for each game.

The perception of many on this board is that our campus and surrounding areas is the most gang infested area in the country where kids would be lucky not to have to commit murder in self defense here. I guess the downside of having a national brand is that you get fans from out of the city who have no idea what the fvck their talking about.

clearly you have not visited DC lately because what you just said is false in regards to DC.

You can walk to Foggy Bottom if you are at that end of Georgetown and take the Metro. It's still a hike.
