Maason Smith 2.0

people need to learn after Surtain, Haslewood etc... when the only place you hear about a player being connected to Miami is on this board, he ain’t coming. We are 0-10000000000000000 on players who never publicly talk about Miami and the only place you hear about them is on this board from “sauces”

I will ban myself for 6 months if Mason comes here.

But he’s started making a bunch of trips recently , that’s what draws the attention. Uga insiders feel good about every recruit , once they kid starts making trips on his own dime that’s when you know something is definitely up.
I know the situations aren’t identical - but I remember people here losing their **** when JW went up to ugga “on his own dime” over the summer and it turns out that was just so he could give Kirby the middle finger in person.

UGA and Smith isn’t new. Their insiders have been confident on him for months which means the size of the bag has already been well discussed for a while now. LSU falling off just made it easier for the kid to say yes imo
Btw you gotta understand I don’t follow anyone’s recruiting other than UM and I only hear UM related stuff. I knew there was interest but I just started hearing about the secret visits.

there's some low key chatter that Smith is going to be at Bama this weekend. not acknowledged by Bama reporters but it's on the LSU boards... UGA also mentioned it.

Hard Rock would be the perfect place for him on Saturday....
that's because the Bama reporters are a fan of the team unlike ours. They will do anything to help them and not leak info

If these uga bags are as abundant as we think, when do they fire kirby because he is definitely not getting a return on investment.

he has to win something big in the next year or two or they will be at his throat. Good chance next year cause Florida is taking a major step back and nobody in the east is good besides them.

Georgia will be in the SEc championship against Bama next year with a legitimate shot at winning with Daniels at QB.

insane that we think we are hotter than the team that just won the title but took a step back cause they lost every single good player and most of their coaches.
To be fair, it sounds like LSU is a mess right now with coaching staff and admin issues. That seems to be why they’re having an exodus. That being said, LSU will always recruit well in Louisiana and Texas, so they’ll never be too far away from being back.

Bama had a poster last week who suggested they were landing him during the LSU/Bama game.

There’s always been rumors masons family wanted out of La , which is why Miami always felt somewhat confident. Now him making trips to Uga on the down low makes that look legit.

And they'll receive a relocation package for their troubles.

Depends if they think they can do better...hard to find a HC. Also he has implemented bama tactics since he hit the ground. Maybe they think they have a chance when saban retires? Hard to find someone that will recruit like the way he has and he has them in playoff talks yearly besides this year. Mark was great but he didn't recruit like what Smart has done. If I were them I would be patient cause u can really shoot yourself in the foot by firing him. It's possible if they hired some HC he could win with KS players but then as soon as they leave they r fuqed. So it can go both ways.... perennial top five team throughout his tenure? I'll take that now

Edit: Also they would have a title but they are good during the golden years of a super power in their conference. Possibly the greatest run in history. So that factors in as well

Ya it is a tough predicament to be in. He did make it to the big game, but hasn't sniffed it since. Pretty interesting to watch teams like that from the outside.

How far a drive is it for him and the family to go visit UM. Probably too far and I don’t expect them to hop on a plane during a pandemic. Hope we can land him but we’re probably running 3rd.
