Maason Smith 2.0

Our future looks brighter than LSU’s
I hope so and I'm not trying to be negative but im skeptical based on the last 17 plus years of bad football since the glory days...if King Phillips Roche Bolden Jordan Borregales etc leave after this year I would expect a drop off unless Miami hits another HR in the portal. I dont think you can overstate how important King coming back is to Miamis success next yr

Next year is all dependent on QB play. Look at UGA, UF, LSU, Penn State, Indiana its all dependent on what your QB does you can either have a good season or bad

Why do many you of insist on doing this to yourselves every year? Mason Smith? C'mon now!

Every year the CIS faithful gets their hopes up for an OOS player of his caliber knowing deep down inside we haven't "earned" the right to compete with 'Baga, L$U and Geor$ia. And before you point to Taylor and Williams ... those boys are locals and are motivated to play for their hometown in front of family and friends.

I refuse to believe that we can "attract" a player like Smith given our performance the past few years.

Nope. Not gonna happen. No way. No chance.

But, I will refresh my screen constantly next Wednesday!!!

Would love to have him in Miami and team him with LT but kinda crazy to say LSU is a bad spot...they just won the national championship last year...Miami is still struggling to win their side each year. Seems like a longshot but you never know
insane that we think we are hotter than the team that just won the title but took a step back cause they lost every single good player and most of their coaches.

Totally agree. this is the annoying part looking ahead. I guess we have no idea what Van Dyke has but man that is an insane amount of talent to leave a team. Its exactly all our best players. We aren't yet at that stage where it is "next man up"......it would be great to get another year at least out of Phillips, Bolden.........also don't sleep on Nesta going also. He's been such a great surprise that it would suck.

The “don’t do it to yourselves” crowd cracks me up. Why can’t we do it to ourselves? How does that affect you? We have 2 5 stars committed already at the top of a great class, are in play for other big time prospects, are 8-1 and ranked in the top 10. His home state school is very publicly following apart. He very well may not come here but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he does.

And if he doesn’t, then we move on and be happy about the fantastic class that we are still going to be bringing in. There is legit smoke here and has been for awhile but nobody should be slitting their wrists if he doesn’t come. If he does though? Oh boy.

This is what makes the recruiting season fun if you aren’t incredibly soft.

They know they are running 2nd to us and want to do anything they can to get back at us for James Williams in addition to adding a talent like smith
it's ironic because there isn't a single recruiting site or reporter that ever mentions the CAnes as a threat for SMith. I'm not complaining; I prefer it that way. These schools know we cannot compete with the bag size so the less they know about where Miami is in a recruitment, the better off we are.

Kirby has the same MO every cycle; start off slow, lots of innuendo by their recruiting sites about "silent commits" and then the last two weeks they bag up a few big fish.
