This is not directed at you, just at our fanbase generally. Why does anyone need "confidence"? Why does anyone need to "protect their emotions". Root for this kid to pick Miami. Don't build your whole life around it, but there's a lot of room between "Maason Smith is a Miami lock" and "Maason Smith is never coming to Miami".

He has Miami in his Final Four. He has said some very nice things about Miami. I do not believe he has given Miami fans any false hope.

Just enjoy the rest of the recruiting cycle. If he picks Miami, we can all be overjoyed. But there's no reason for the Mope Squad to come out in full force to ****e on our hopes.

I don't care if we are ultimately let down by Maason Smith picking an SEC school. My confidence level was not high. My hope level is moderate and realistic. If Miami keeps winning games, we are going to start winning a few of these recruiting battles, but until then, let's maintain a glimmer of hope that a talented kid with a good mom and a decent academic background (and a not-so-bad economic background) might have the clarity to bypass the local bag schools, and pick the best schematic fit for his football abilities.

LSU may or may not get hit by sanctions. LSU has nose dived quickly into the abyss. Ed O somehow put a team together that you could say came close to the 01 Canes last year. With Coker, our fall was steady and progressed to mediocrity. Ed O nose dived into that area not even a year removed from a title. O's a corch who got lucky that LSU splurged on Aranda and that he found Brady.

people need to learn after Surtain, Haslewood etc... when the only place you hear about a player being connected to Miami is on this board, he ain’t coming. We are 0-10000000000000000 on players who never publicly talk about Miami and the only place you hear about them is on this board from “sauces”

I will ban myself for 6 months if Mason comes here.

That’s flawed data professor , beens everyone had hasselwood to um after he decommitted from uga including myself. Alot of the national media and this board all had UM. Me and my “ sauces “ were the first to mention OU. Then 247 started talking OU a few days later.

Alot of the time this is it....most forums think the certain player is going there

There's a difference. Haslewood had smoke to Miami, but we crapped the bed. We've always had people think about us, but without the on-field product we were never really an option. This season we're top 10 and already have other 5* committed. Not saying we get him, but I won't say it's like previous years either.

At least we're not chasing rainbows - I guess that's a good thing rather than being left holding their d1cks in their hand on NLOI. Are they holding a spot at the risk of not getting a good player locally (e.g. Payton) or are they not mutually exclusive?

I won't lie, I was hoping one of the big fish you talked about having a good chance with was MS. Do you still think we get some good surprises on signing day?

they really have nothing to lose , if he chooses them they’ll just take one less in the portal. There’ll be a spot.

He was , so was Garcia and one other. The staff smartly is just playing it like we don’t expect it but wouldn’t be shocked. Right I don’t think any staff knows where he’s going m, but uga sure is sniffing around a lot lately.

UGA and Smith isn’t new. Their insiders have been confident on him for months which means the size of the bag has already been well discussed for a while now. LSU falling off just made it easier for the kid to say yes imo

But he’s started making a bunch of trips recently , that’s what draws the attention. Uga insiders feel good about every recruit , once they kid starts making trips on his own dime that’s when you know something is definitely up.
