LSU Board nuggets affecting canes

The vets here know the ending to this movie.Come NSD and Smith signs with LSU or Bama we're going to get the we were in great shape for months but in the end the pull to play for the home team or play for the National champs was too much to overcome and followed wiith we should be happy with this class considering the season we had,2018 is the class to get us back.

Agreed. Unless Richt and the staff have some tricks up their sleeves, whomever we've been in contact with the most will most likely end up here. With what Pete has given us, we should close with Slaton, Herbert, Harley, Edwards, McKitty, McFarland, and DE. Top 15 finish.

Definite top 5-10 class in 18'.

I dont want to hear top 5 next year we always hear the same ****. We should have top 5 to top 3 yearly based on location alone...no excuses

Little tidbit I heard: Standish Dobard has been in contact with his fellow louisiana native Devonta. Maybe he'll be able to do some work convincing him just like he managed to get Gerald Willis here.

See, this why I need to just keep my though to **** self lol

I want Smith here & hope we get him, it just seems like unlikely, but now I gotta ****in argue with 20 ****z over it...

F*ck it fam... We getting Smith & Jeudy!!! Lol

When did someone say you didnt want them here, i was just talking about your criticism of the staff, you jumping the gun there fam
@Liberty City El famm slow down for a second & look at what's being said. No one at least not me or buddy is having a problem about your opinion on what devonta does. It's an opinion & we all entitled to one. It comes from an educated stance . Not like these two other morons who keep talking bout sec country & they're not coming here period like it's fact. My problem is how ur critiquing the staff when they cant prove ur stance one way or the other until signing day. Most of these reporters take **** that was said to them & edit it down until it has nothing to do with reality. Until signing day we won't know what this staff is really hitting on. All thatears when we don't really here much concerning such & such positions is his sources aren't linked like that.
You right... I have been critical of our CB recruiting for obvious reasons, but I actually think we'll finish solid with Dean & Edwards.

At WR, I hope we get everybody, if we don't oh well, I'm not really trippin...

Otherwise, Ima just sit back & shut the f*ck up from here on out... Lol

Harley and juedy are the guys we should be confodent about yearly. Sfla dudes should be like trajan bandy.....we knew when we offered he was ours. Thats how it should be but its not....lsu and bama can have horrible seasons and still get there home grown elite players. Im tired of these sfla divas man...i know those money bags heavy tho

Bruh.. when we lost the best RB in FLorida to phucking Arkansas..yea I mean Arkansas...that let me know them money bags on a whole nother level mane..I think that was the lowest point in my crootin life..it is what it is

I'm not sure people realize how hard it probably is to pick Miami when bama comes knocking. Even hometown kids have to feel good when saban sits in their living room and says "we're the best and we want you". It doesn't make sense to us for a guy to go to a situation where he's behind a bunch of other 5* kids, but even adults are flattered by that kind of attention. Kids say it's business, but it's not. It's psychology.

Top 5 every annually is unrealistic at this point in time. Richt inherited a weak Golden-ized team and has/had to repair a lot of partnerships locally and nationally. The school doesn't have the alumni, money, or recent success like say a Michigan, Bama, Clemson, or FSU to just sell itself. The coaches have to work twice as hard compared to their peers. Not to mention that we haven't won the conference, our division for that matter, or 9+ games in over 12 years.

Its not something that will just happen. Its going to take time and winning to erase the negative image that we've had out of recruits' minds.

I also say next year because a lot of the kids in next year's cycle already have a good relationship with the coaches. That should be the year we dominate locally.

Study history. It has a way of repeating itself. Ed O is a monster recruiter, and he'll make a splash OC hire. He's also got bags. Bama is Bama.

These blue chip dudes in that neck of the woods are nearly impossible to grab. There's always some reason in the end just like with Holloman.

If we want a shot at those types we need to be the hot program again or hand out bags. In the meantime, the killer is losing so many LOCAL hosses like Jeudy.

Can you imagine the money that will be tossed around with an LSU-Alabama battle over a recruit?

Chise, can you think of the last big recruit we landed from deep in SEC country? I'm thinking bailey was the last one. Before him, I can't think of anyone.

Akiem Jolla out of Louisiana 2002 I think he was #2 or 3 WR in the country

He shortly transfered out

Clif Jackson and Tavokiius Bonner. LOL.

We generally get the guys that those programs don't offer. That's it. Look at history. We get the guys like Michael Jackson and Malik Rosier.

Basically this.

Saying "but we're Miami! The U!" doesn't cut it with these kids anymore. We've not been relevant for a decade. We're the home town team, but the out of town teams are offering wins and .....benefits that we can't match.

Until we can convince these guys to stay home we're always going to be fighting an uphill battle.

LOL!!!!!! To this day, I'm still baffled as to how Cliff Jackson had offers from every school in the country.

Devonta Smith committed to Richt once before.

Richt has done well with kids that previously committed to him at Georgia and flipped to Miami (i.e. Deejay Dallas and Malek Young).

That's about the only reason for optimism at this point, and I doubt it outweighs the tons of reasons for this kid to go to bama/lsu.

He would have been towards the bottom of the ESPN Top 300 but not a top 100 guy.

From what I recall, No - he was a 2/3 star kind of kid.
