LSU Board nuggets affecting canes

The vets here know the ending to this movie.Come NSD and Smith signs with LSU or Bama we're going to get the we were in great shape for months but in the end the pull to play for the home team or play for the National champs was too much to overcome and followed wiith we should be happy with this class considering the season we had,2018 is the class to get us back.

Just recently Smith & Moses both visited LSU together, from an LSU writer the thing that he pointed out in his article was that Smith & Moses were both being recruited by Eddy O as Bama recruits... That let me know all I needed to know.

It would be great to land the kid, but it's just unrealistic thus far... He's only visited once for the UNC game & idk if Duggans has had his in-home with him yet, but compared to how often he visits Bama, doesn't look good for us.

You are aware he lives pretty close to bama right opposed to pretty **** far from us. My most obvious critique to what you said though relates to your lack of confidence for wr & CB for this staff... why exactly is that considering this staff hasn't been able to prove anything one way or another. Good or bad until signing day gets here... you're gonna sit back & critique the staff because you haven't heard enough publicly about our efforts? Pete's already told yall some of the people were on were staying quiet about until it's time. Do you honestly think we'll I'm hearing next to nothing concerning either of those positions so clearly they're just sitting back collecting a check doing nothing? You both make valid points, if I understand correctly. Brooklyn is saying that we should reserve judgement until signing day, and we don't know what is going on behind the scenes. And Liberty is saying that at the moment, from what we can see, things don't appear to be going well at WR. And that the average fan can only go off of what appears to be happening.

It's a simple disagreement, it can only be resolved by waiting till signing day. So let's wait and see. On my part, I am going to be confident until the staff gives me a reason not to be, but I completely understand where you are coming from Liberty, both of you, are in a way, correct.

That's exactly my point. Anything until signing day is simply entertainment & 9 out of 10 is inaccurate. Other than socoal media how do you guys know the truth about recruiting. Simply put you don't cause social media is a game. Until pen hits that paper all this **** is a guess. So to judge by results is hyperbole. No one has results period.

I edited what I had said cause I knew you'd think I was speaking directly to you & that's not the case El. I always sit back & just read all this negativity from so many people on here till I finally respond to it all at once. I don't argue on here at all. It's pointless. My only thing I'd really like for you to understand is that you (not just you but no one who isn't linked in somehow)understands what's being done & by who. It's one thing to tweet something out & voila Pete & the rest of them heard from a source. It's another for the staff to be on someone & not be able to talk about it much till signing day is complete.75% of recruiting people never here about. But for a real staff no stone goes unturned.

Agreed. Unless Richt and the staff have some tricks up their sleeves, whomever we've been in contact with the most will most likely end up here. With what Pete has given us, we should close with Slaton, Herbert, Harley, Edwards, McKitty, McFarland, and DE. Top 15 finish.

Definite top 5-10 class in 18'.

Years of inept coaching has put a sour taste in my mouth in terms of recruiting but I'm sorry if I don't sit there and think everytime we go up against a big school for a player we will lose. I saw us beat Bama for Richards and McCloud, through major turmoil. Admittedly those were closer to home but if that was Golden we more than likely would have lost those players. Now the staff has film to say, this is what we have, this is what we want to do. We can win some of these battles. This buffonery about us can't beat SEC teams for players is exactly that. Sorry. Even if we lose these players it will be so. We will get some and lose some. But starting with the next Class I expect us to get more of the players we want

I don't see how on earth Kiffin would view going from OC at Bama to OC at LSU as a step up. When he leaves Bama, I don't see any way it isn't to be either a HC in college or potentially as an OC in the NFL.

Dad having gone to LSU, I was raised a canes/tiger fan and still keep up with their sites and recruiting from time to time.

Two things that may affect us have been all over the board lately, felt like it could be useful to share:

1) Phidarian Mathis is believed to be a heated LSU and Bama competition. Rashard Lawrence, a 5 star DT from his high school, is very close to him and appears to be locking Phidarian in. Coach O loves him and has already visited Phidarian at a game and I believe in home. Will be tough to see Coach O let go of a lineman in his own backyard. We should know its a long shot at best.

2) Many, MANY LSU fans seem to think Lane Kiffin as LSU OC is a lock, and apparently word has it that Coach O has been using that to reel in Devonta Smith. All the LSU boards see Smith's recruitment as a Bama/LSU battle with a LSU lean as of late. They're confident that he's in the bag. This is their biggest target on their WR board and it would again seem hard to see LSU not secure him.

This really worries me in our WR recruiting. Even though pete said we were quietly confident about Devonta, don't want this ending up like Holloman and us holding nothing come NSD.

Our staff is confident. So somebody is getting their feelings hurt

I hope Im wrong, but you know how this plays out.

It plays out with Miami having a class with a bunch of ballers next season; Devonta and Phidaian included or not. We'll be okay. #BeatUWV

Harley and juedy are the guys we should be confodent about yearly. Sfla dudes should be like trajan bandy.....we knew when we offered he was ours. Thats how it should be but its not....lsu and bama can have horrible seasons and still get there home grown elite players. Im tired of these sfla divas man...i know those money bags heavy tho
