I'm just over it.

We. Do. This. Every. Time.

People were literally saying we should pay Guidry a blank check.

But now after 30 years of coaching, he doesn't know how to get a defense lined up.

Look, it's possible Guidry has no plan against motion after 30 years of coaching. Or maybe there are other things going on, such as inexperienced/bad safeties.

You saw how terrible we were at passing off guys in zone. Maybe that's why we have been playing so much man.

Or maybe Jaden Harris just isn't good.

I want to reiterate that I don't care one way or the other if Guidry gets fired.

I just think we have to get out of this cycle of coaches being saviors or village idiots.

I mean, Al freaking Golden is currently coordinating a top 5 defense.

There are truly elite coaches and truly bad coaches. But most are somewhere in the middle.

I think Guidry is somewhere in the middle.

Even if we hire some wizard, the talent level has to improve if we want to compete at high levels.

lol we are misaligned at snap. that isnt a talent issue. that is a coaching issue.

we knew what they were running depending on the QB in the game and we still couldnt stop it. we couldnt even adjust for the run the entire game. it wasnt an issue of our O scored too fast. we got beat the **** up on the first drive.

he isnt a good coach.

thats happened for 10 games now. i thought wed get better post bye. we looked like we didnt even go over defensive principles in the bye and somehow got worse as a tackling team.

our defensive aside from OJ have regressed as the year has gone on.

WHY are they not aligned? Has Guidry never seen motion and shifts in all his years of coaching?

How did he got from Broyles nominee to "he can't even get guys lined up"?

TrumpyCane not sure what happened.

Safties are a very important in this defense, say what you want about Kinchens and Williams but they are 10x the duo Harris/Powell are, coincidence they leave and the defense falls apart?

LOL even assuming there is an actual distinction here - great we got out schemed and that is in no way an indictment on our DC
